Now not to pin the team's successes or short comings all on Cam, I think I'd rather roll the dice with Mac and see what he can do, as I think the long-term upside is a higher, and the more experience given to Mac the better, even if it means rookie mistakes.

Eli-Warner thing, I guess

A good night for the Pats and both QBs.

Cam was fine but Mac might have been a little sharper.

Both QBs mostly relied on a ground game, but Mac has a better touch and superior range. But tonight both seemed totally in control and comfortable with the offense.

The Iggles, both sides of the ball, were terrible, so its hard to judge a lot with this game.

But to the extent there was a QB controversy, it only got ratched up, at least in the minds of fans.

But it looks like its Cam's to lose.

Of course it is.

I think Pats go out at least 8-4 before facing the Bills

Assuming of course there is no Eli moment for Jones

Pats schedule looks relatively benign QnD looks says they could be anywhere from 9-12 wins. Probably lower-scoring, reliant on ground game and a strong D. And stronger if Gilmore plays.

Thoughts?

Inconsiderate by Zolak?  Accurate - at all?

Anything to do with that it's RAP and he is a POC?

It was a stupid thing for Zolak to day.

No idea what underlies it and not pretending I do.

Pay attention

Jones is my guy.  :)

(Actually Rodgers and Allen were a nice tandem for me last year as I took regular season title)

Did Pat's save a bunch of dough or was Newton $ guaranteed?

Certainly have to check out FIRST TAKE today.  Kellerman said just yesterday that Newton hadn't played his best football yet

(Yeah, Max - apparently that was the problem)

Nothing against your Jone's but I like the upside of 'Bama Jones more than Duke Jones.

IIRC Newton's comp had a lot of incentives, so not much dead money beyond modest amount of guaranteed money.

Yeah.  I complemented Mac on the Gmen forum

Maybe I will take him as a backup.

Looks like Cam got 3.6 out of his 5.1.  Who becomes #2?

Bama Jones will make rookie mistakes, but it seems he has a high football IQ and enough skills to be a pretty decent QB.

I thought BB would stick with Cam until he flat out lost the job.

I guess he did, or BB knew which way he was going and didn't want the drama leading up to the 1st game.

Deal with any fall out, if any, now.

IMO he made the smart decision.

Yeah.  Just another way to do it.  Avoid the Warner-Eli type situation

I am sure the COVID scare and other things may have factored in.

Bill doesn't want a middling season but I am sure he can get through it.
