A lot of great college coaches have struggled trying to transition to the pros, but has anyone flamed out quite so spectacularly?

Flamed out how?  Did Urban have a strong roster?

It is not his roster that caused him to flame out, Kid.

Thats fine

Would have been cool to see the team he could build.

Meanwhile Lambo has kicked his last NFL point.

I suspect he was going to have a hard time attracting free agents or keeping his own when they were free to move, Kid, based on things like his kicking the kicker.

Can't build a team if people don't want to play for you and you are bad-mouthing your own chosen assistant coaches all the time.

I think Green Bay should sign him.

Besides, if he is good enough he will get signed. Christ, Damon Arnette just signed with the Dolphims and he is on tape threatening to kill someone. The only inexcusable crime for the NFL is kneeling.

Meyer will get a job in football before Lambo

Players want to

A - sign a contract that will provide for their family (see Hatteberg Moneyball scene)

B - get on the field so they can earn another (see A)

Won't be in the pros, Kid.

And I would be there are a lot more Urban Meyer stories to come. He may never work again.

Owners want to

Not be embarrassed by their coaches.

Even if he didnt have the baggage Meyer isnt the type to go from pro HC to pro assistant, as so many (effectively or ineffectively) do

Precious few head jobs - and his last one, surely.

I have no idea if UM will try to coach again immediately.  Kahn may not be paying him (or even a settlement) so he may need the cash

Maybe he can coach the Rutherford HS running backs, with Garrett as TE coach.
