"The Mississippi River begins at Lake Itasca, a small glacial lake in northern Minnesota, and flows southward for 2,350 miles until it reaches the Gulf of Mexico".

Downhill.   That's how rivers work.   You can't channel it westward towards the arid parts of USA.  Gravity,  ya know.

He thinks we should truck it, fly it, or otherwise divert it there, with no concept of the difficulties, the monetary costs, or the costs to downstream eco systems.

In other words, a typical GOP decision-maker. (And traditional white male engineer of prior centuries.)

Heh.   Yes an aqueduct with pumping stations running from St Louis and across the Rockies would be the first true trillion dollar boondoggle.   Not even a reincarnated Isambard Brunel would take that on.

Muuuuch cheaper and more versatile to desalinate water along the west coast,  and install drip irrigation in vegetable country, xeriscape yards, and so on.  Desalination BTW is a process that lends itself quite well to using solar energy.

Ivanka Trump could run for President. She is 39 years old.

Sabrina Cervantes is 34.

Yes you can, pipelines.
Rivers in Oregon flow into the sea, that water could be piped to CA.
Costs too much?
Use the spaceships to Mars money.
China will, when it owns all the land.

You could pipe water from Colorado to Texas to feed new lakes in Texas, and electricity can be generated by generators on the pipe. The new immigrants could move to Texas to live by the new lakes, and they can boat and swim and fish in the new lakes, and water ski, etc. The new immigrants could get water, electricity, and a place for recreation. They can hire people to put in cobblestone streets too, whatever you want, fountains, landscaping, whatever you want.

Have you not been paying attention, Tony?

The Colorado is running short. Their state can't afford to have their water piped elsewhere.

It is raining now where I am, and more rain is on the way, and Oregon is going to get a lot of rain, so will Colorado. Hopefully we have a wet winter. And we need to save the water instead of letting it just flow into the ocean, and projects like the Hoover Dam are great projects. As we spend money on infrastucture then we need to build more dams and aqueducts and water pipes and man made lakes, etc.

This is where the money is going for new bridges in Los Angeles...

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-05-22/photos-sixth-street-bridge-construction

We need high speed trains. Amtrak can have high speed trains.

And we need to have more man-made lakes, we need to save the water, plus we can have recreation and energy generation, etc.
