Basketball / Draft 2024
« on: June 20, 2024, 01:35:27 PM »
Leon has a track record of draft day juggling.

That being said...

If we end up with Duke's Flipowski and Virginia's Dunn, this boy would be pleased.

lol, smacked myself for that repeatedly throughout the series.

really impressive how JB & Tatum evolved.

and of course, Jrue is Jrue, you could make a reasonable case there for final's MVP too.

in hindsight, considering iHarts emergence and Mitch's continued frailty, this surely would have been interesting:

https://www.si.com/nba/knicks/trade-rumors/new-york-knicks-trade-rumors-jrue-holiday-mitchell-robinson-boston-celtics

Donnie THE DOUCHE Walsh famously passed on Jrue [and] DeMar to draft Jordan Hill.

Bucks were enraptured by the allure of shiny objects in dumping Jrue in favor of Dame.  DUH.

Love Jrue.  A WINNER.

Happy for Tatum and Brown.  Good kids, great skills, high character.  Took a lot of shit from the groundlings.

Quote
Jaylen Brown may be the most overpaid player in history.

Wrong!!!!

Was just recalling our exchange back in the fall.

Glad you experienced your come to HaySuze moment.

Oubre is a FA. I cannot see Philly sing and trading him to us no matter what his agent says and we will not have the loot to pursue him if we resign OG and IH.

I would not mind getting him but I do not see how we can pull it off without taking a big step backwards.

And if the Knicks cash out the Bogdonavich 19 million?

Hartenstein Robinson Bol
Randle Barnes Holmes
Anonoby Hart Dunn
DiVincenzo Burks Milton
Brunson McBride ?

That is a team to beat the crap out of the Celtics even if they add a piece or two.

Barnes?

Drums beating for Kelly Oubre. Now repped by CAA.

Barnes is better suited for Thibs.

I like Ryan Dunn and Daron Holmes as our first rounders.

Nice fantasy. Like his game.

How suited is Barnes to coming off the bench. He's been a 30+minutes man his whole career.

Would provide coverage at PF and SF.

Do we really want THAT contract through the summer of 2026?  Just divested ourselves of Fournier, and only have a one year commitment to Bogie should we pick up.his option.

Vezenkov wants out. They are top heavy in salary and will need to fill out the roster and they need the shooting and poise Bogey is famous for plus one less year of Barnes Salary if they replace him with Bogey. They will need the space to keep Murray w a big extension.

Me?

Would like to keep Bogey.

For his game. Ending contract.

Possibilities which may manifest by February 2025.

Think he is better suited for a bench role than HB.

Perhaps is time to.ponder our three draft picks.

Sasha Vezenkov and Harrison Barnes for Bogey, Sims and Jefferies plus minor draft compensation.

And the Kings motivation to do this?

Haha

Ware, Dunn, and Ajinca would be a very good draft for us.

Hartenstein Robinson Ware
Randle Achuiwa Dunn
Anonoby Hart Ajinca
DiVincenzo Burks
Brunson McBride

We have a minimum, some small but above minimum exceptions and Bogeys salary along with future sweeteners to round out the backcourt with two slots to play with.

I would look to grab Dennis Smith Jr. for a second tour now he has seasoned up and either Dunn or Horton Tucker out of Utah. But I am not doctrinaire about it.

Bogdonavich?

We have Brunson, Randle, Robinson, Hart, Donte and Deuce locked up for next season. As priority to retain we have OG and Hartenstein. Clearing Bogey makes that fiscally doable. I would also like to retain Precious and Burks if those guys will take reasonable offers. This would bring us near the tax line and have us fill out the roster with near minimum and minimum deals along with rookie contracts.

We know we have a good mix with enough firepower to win our way into the playoffs. The goal will be to pair back minutes and dole out rest so we can get more of our core into the playoffs healthy and ready to play.

Hartenstein Robinson
Randle Achuiwa
Anonoby Hart
DiVincenzo Burks
Brunson McBride

Add two rookies and two ring chasers, preferably one a stretch five, and we can give the East a run for its money if not the league. I will be happy if we go that route and do not needlessly over complicate things with our roster construction.

Holy Shit!

Still Worried?

If we make it to the ECF, 2023-24 is all gravy.

Some respect for Thibs?
