Oscar night is coming up quick.

I would love to produce an Oscar party

Salute,

Tony V.
I recommend serving everything bagels and finger food (keep the donkeys away).

You want burglars to come, however, because they know how to pick the lox.

Real Time host Bill Maher took a victory lap on Friday on behalf of all COVID dissenters like himself throughout the course of the pandemic.
Following the revelations that U.S. government agencies like the FBI and the Energy Department are endorsing the COVID lab leak theory and studies that show the effectiveness of natural immunity and the ineffectiveness of mask wearing and lockdowns, Maher suggested a large swath of Americans should feel vindicated.
I feel like the people who were the dissenters are looking pretty good. I was one of them, I remember getting a lot of shit from a lot of places.

Maher scoffed at January 2021 Daily Beast headline that read Bill Maher Pushes Steve Bannon Wuhan Lab COVID Conspiracy.
Yeah, it was just Steve Bannon,Maher sarcastically reiterated. Well, it was, you know, the former head of the CDC, it is the FBI, it is the Energy Department.
We do not know. Like I said, we should not politicize it. But would you agree that the dissenters are looking better these days?

The HBO star went on to complain how tennis superstar Novak Djokovic is still not allowed to enter the U.S. to compete in a tournament because he is unvaccinated despite having gotten COVID. He quoted a tournament official trying to get Djokovic in the country saying there does not seem to be an imminent danger. Imminent danger of a man playing tennis of a man who' has  had it twice standing alone, a sport where you are alone in the middle of a stadium outside in a country where everyone's already had it. No imminent danger.
This country is stuck on stupid. It just is.

Congratulations!

Could, possibly, might be a lab leak.

That will bring us back to Doh!

REPOST OF EARLIER COMMENT, FOR CLARIFYING POSITION

Even Joe Biden wants all theories examined.
What are YOU scared of?

Stop trolling me.  Distorting another's post to falsely portray their views, while not addressing their actual point or factual basis, is trolling.  I have explained the scientific perspective here, which is the one that's relevant to scientific conclusions, and have clarified, twice, why politics and political opinions are not relevant to the conclusions of the scientific community.  So we're done.  And probably done, in the broader sense.  I feel it best to let you join the other ignorant and dishonest fuckwits whose minds are stuck in the misinformation bubble, and closed to new facts and ideas.  You probably fancy yourself a crusader in some culture war for libertarian values, but you're nothing more than another Scott Adams, imagining your paranoia and prejudice as the wisdom of years.  Minus the cartoons that used to be funny takes on office worker anxieties.
LOL!
ROFL!
The Scientific Community?
That excludes Government scientists that research these matters for theFBI and the Energy. Department?
And report to Joe Biden who ordered them to conduct further research?
I remind you all theories so far come with low confidence so we need more not less research.
Fact checkers from USA Today, the Washington Post, Snopes, and  othershave all backtracked on three year old dismissals of a possible Wuhan Lab leak. Why?
You are the one closed to on going scientific research and you are the one deciding on  incomplete information  while making a fool of yourself.
You still cannot answer the main point of this discussion:
Why was talk of the possibility of the lab leak suppressed by big tech etc.?
Why is China threatening Elon Musk if he allows Twitter to keep the discussion alive?
And what other firms were told to shut up?

If you ignore all you dislike then you do not understand the challenges of scientific research.
Do not let the door hit your backside on your way out.

So what? It might have been a lab leak and it might be an animal human infection.

Low confidence means the results of the analysis is heavily disputed inside the Energy Department.

Reductions at the U.S. agencies sidelined health experts, scientists and other professionals who might have been able to help China mount an earlier response to the novel coronavirus, as well as provide the U.S. government with more information about what was coming, according to the people who spoke with Reuters.

Though surrounded by sweet and idealistic sugar coating, your post failed to conceal its central religious bigotry.  China is mainly Taoist, Buddhist, and Confucian, and it's not your business how they conduct their spiritual lives.  Take your "win China over for the Catholic church" and stuff it.  Try to respect that there's more than one path up the mountain.  Wouldn't hurt you to read Thomas Merton.

Sorry, but I am a Christian, and I believe in spreading the word of Christ and I support winning people over for Jesus. I would make it no secret that I am a Christian, and that I support winning people over for Jesus.

I support Freedom of Religion in China, and I support the Chinese people being able to receive the word of God and being able to worship freely.

Salute,

Tony V.

You have packed receive the word of God and worship freely pretty tightly together there, Tony.

There is more to worshiping freely.

Maybe if you agreed that it would be fine even if they all decided they were shamanistic animists to whom Jesus is a cute myth so long as they were worshiping freely we could concede that when you say worshiping freely that you get it and are onboard with it in its full form.

Kudos all around to the blacks of Chicago who dumped the worst Mayor in its history.
The DEI movement was also exposed as a fraud.
If the voters send the Chicago Teachers Union a similar message and vote for meritocracy in the runoff the city may survive.

Translation: vote for the white guy who is backed by the PBA.

UPDATE!

FBI director says COVID pandemic most likely originated from Chinese lab
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fbi-director-says-covid-pandemic-most-likely-originated-chinese-lab

Yeah, so?

Meanwhile in context:

Trump said that he believed the virus was under control. He also said he had confidence in the Chinese government to be transparent.

We have it under control. It is going to be just fine.
