The more summer league plays out the more the Payne signing makes sense.

I guess the Knicks see Deuce as an off guard.

Cam Payne here on a minimum

Mitch Sims
Randle KBD Dadiet
OG Hart
Bridges DiVincenzo McBride
Brunson Payne Kolek

Two spots left to fill

You neglected Diop.

He went out with a resigned Shake Milton to get us the flexibility to sign Precious

Gone but not forgotten

Diop CAME BACK from the Nyets

Milton and that big wing Mamadi Diakite went out.

The #58 pick.

Raw as tuna sashimi, but size, footwork, tenacity, a rudimentary skillet.

Played well.

Sam Mitchell dug him: "Crafty"

Too bad there are likely no roster spots.

Bates-Diop. You are right about who we sent out.

I have some hope for Hukporti. I think he is the rook most likely to see time this season. He has a month to pick up the defensive system. I think Othella Harrington works with our bigs.

I think our best play is to leave the trade market alone for now, re-up Precious and sign a minimum big.

Jay Huff is still my favorite option, but after summer league I like Skapintsev over Yurtseven. The towering Ukrainian has a couple of years in our system and has good skills at 7-1 and 260. He is ready for a big club backup role.

Latest "intel" has Kolek as the rotational second team point guard, with Payne as a back up.to the backup, a veteran emergency option.

I like our Skapintsev as our center option.  Was impressed with our German-Togo rookie as well. Between them, Jericho,  Mitchell and small.ball Precious and Julius, think we will be okay.

Skapintsev showed some offensive moves of a Hartenstein pedigree.

Huff signs a two-way with Memphis.

Thibs gets his extension.

I am starting to feel Skapintsev is the answer at pivot

Huff?

Skapintsev may not be THE ANSWER, but he is a viable option who has shown incremental improvement.

And Thibs just brought in a new big man coach, Mark Bryant.

PS: The money Brunson left on the table could allow us to pursue UFA  Clint Capela in the summer of 2025.

Achuiwa resigns on a one year, Six million dollar deal.

Frontcourt gets a little beefier as we bear a complete roster

Mitch Precious Jericho
Randle KBD
OG Hart Dadiet
Bridges DiVincenzo McBride
Brunson Payne Kolek

I would still like us to take one more big big like Skapintsev to round out the squad.

#58 pick Ariel Hokpurti is quite raw, but has size, good footwork, and looks to be some raw clay for Thibs and new bigs coach Mark Bryant to fashion, much as Mo Cheeks is likely salivating about working with Tyler Kolek.

PS: Philly making some significant veteran moves: Paul George, Andre Drummond, Kelly Oubre, Caleb Martin, Reggie Jackson, Kyle Lowry, Eric Gordon.

Can hardly wait.

We have added Chuma Okeke, formerly of the magic. That makes 15. Whoops. It looks like an Exhibit 10 signing. I like it better now.

Skapintsev for the last full time roster spot

The 6'8" Bates-Diop and the 6'7" Okeke [should he make roster] give us coverage at both the 3 & 4 spots. Assuming he is not stockpiled in Westchester.  He was signed to an Exhibit 10 contract.

I suspect #56 3&D pick McCullar will receive a two way.

Toppin showed something in summer league.  So did Hukporti and Skapitsev.

PS: Much hand wringing about Achuwa's lack of size at 6'8".  The beefier, more skilled Adeboyo is 6'9", while the Hawks are grooming 6'8" Onyeka Okongwu as their center of the future.
