"The mob takes the Fifth Amendment. If you are innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?"

Donald Trump, 2016.

"I take the Fifth Amendment."

Donald Trump, today.

As a side note, the NYAG investigation is a civil case, which means unlike in a criminal case his taking the Fifth can be held against him and a jury can draw the inference he did not answer because he is GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY! Lock him up!

But as a civil case, no locking him up. OTOH, what he did not say cannot be used against him in subsequent criminal proceedings.

And he did say, after his (lack of) deposition, "Now I know why."

Since trump published both the warrant and the receipt of goods from the anti-criminal activity carried out in his Florida fuckhouse,

Wait, what?

I don't see that they were published. Did you leave out a negative?

But if the raid turns up nothing another Trump presidency is entirely possible.

Entirely possible?

You're funny.  We are working in a "foregone conclusion" mode right now.

No, because the raid is about records taken by Trump.
which is a nothing burger. Sandy Berger and Hillary can attest to that.

"but her emails!"

The emails were examined and even the GOP-led committee found nothing in them worth chasing. 113 had classified information. 3 were marked, but the DoJ said the markings were unclear.

Of course, it turned out that her email server was more secure than the State Department's, but that doesn't let her off the hook. She paid for her crime by losing the 2016 election, though it was not a formal penalty.

Berger? He stole and destroyed "five classified copies of a single report commissioned from Richard Clarke covering internal assessments of the Clinton Administration's handling of the unsuccessful 2000 millennium attack plots." Why did he steal five of them? Given that there were more copies, it's beyond me!

But he lost his security clearance (for 3 years) and gave up his law license. $50,000 fine.

What Trump had was a dozen boxes of material. Was any of it more vital than either Berger's theft of Clarke's report or Clinton's private email server?

I suppose that remains to be seen - but given that Trump's been in discussion with the National Archives for 18 months and he previously handed over 15 boxes, but not these, presumably he kept them for a reason.

If he wanted us to know what they were looking for, he would release the warrant.
Why would he let the DOJ play whack A  MOLE?
Let the Government state its case, the onus is on them.

Of course, if you could back up your opinion that asserts that "Folks like Black athletes only as long as they do nothing but entertain", with some objective facts, then maybe you have an issue worth discussing.

Jackie Robinson

Bill Russell

Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali

Dick Allen

Lew Alcindor/Kareem Abdul Jabber

Curt Flood

Tommie Smith

John Carlos

Mahmoud Abdul-Raif

Craig Hodges

Colin Kaepernick

LeBron James

You have not shown that to be a reflection of most modern fans POV..

It's just a list, mostly reflecting attitudes from decades ago.

James and Kaepernick are from decades ago?

Griner.?

As usual

Did the overwhelming majority of Americans condemn those 3?

Uh...nope.

Keep spinning. You've lost the thread. You made an assertion and you haven't backed it up.

It's what you do.

Did the overwhelming majority

Overwhelming majority?

Bitch, please.

Moving the goalposts.

Original assertion: Folks like Black athletes only as long as they do nothing but entertain.

It is up to the FBI to make a case. Trump is innocent until found otherwise.
Since the FBI has meddled in the last two presidential elections it is hardly surprising Trump will let the FBI hang itself this time.
The raid was high stakes gamble, so high Biden was kept in the dark.
But if the raid turns up nothing another Trump presidency is entirely possible.

If the DOJ makes a high stakes gamble, they probably have a good hand.
A good  hand for what? Prosecuting Trump for illegally handling classified documents?
Bill Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger STOLE 5 classified documents from the National Archives Was only charged with a misdemeanor. Hillary hid classified documents on her private sever and got only an FBI Investigation.

The warrant for the Trump raid may be legitimate but its purpose was only to search for Jan6 evidence.
The dems want, above all, to disqualify Trump from reelection  which, according to the US Constitution is impossible. But they can achieve a de facto disqualification via public opinion.

BTW, your Maker of American Greatness invoked the fifth this morning.  Since he says he didn't do anything wrong, and I totally believe him, care to speculate why he would need to invoke the fifth?
Because any thing he testified to can be used against him in a criminal case

Yeah.

They can state the case in COURT where it is heading.

Trump should either Produce the warrant or shut the fuck up.

Trump only withheld 12 of the 27 boxes he took home after being notified and having all quibbles resolved that they were all government property and not his.

I cannot imagine that more than one of those twelve boxes is full of documents that don with his sharpie made it a felony to mishandle.

What is a a file box of felonies in terms of decades of sentence, even if the documents in question were not being actively posted for sale by the defendant?

And while inflation drops precipitously,

America gets greater.

I see you still haven't backed up your statement. You want to say "some folks" or "my folks" or "folks i know" or whatever, but the implication when you just say "folks" is that it is the overwhelming majority of folks.

Don't move away from your statement and then try to put that movement on me.

Just back up what you wrote. Or amend it to reflect the truth.

Or STFU, "Bitch".

Otherwise, I can just write "folks think you're lying, again, as you've been caught doing so in the past".

And I'd be on terra firma with that statement.
