What made the good old days so good was the 90 percent tax rate on the top margin. Wealth tax would help as well.

Soaking is saving. Pity billionaires enough to take their toys away.

Sieepy Joe has promised to make war with China if they make advances toward Taiwan.
As has every President since 1947. That is why it is still not part of China.

The world communism movement is over. Taiwan is part of China just like Hong Kong was. America loses wars at great costs. Senile to do saber rattling.

Many people believe there is a crisis at the border. Senile to open the border. Not even Obama did that.
Biden did not do that either you brain garbbled buffoon.

This is 2023, 1947 cold war thinking just does not work. Didn't Vietnam prove that? Turdhead etc.,etc. China is now a leading trade partner. Are they going to start a war? The racist LBJ hated Asians and wanted to send over mostly Afro-Americans to fight ask MLK . Gulf of Tonkin, right! Yeah, yeah open borders is good for the economy.

Of course not. That is the point of restating our long standing military support of Taiwan. China may want Taiwan, but it is not worth a war for them to seize it.

You should probably check who you call senile if you are going to evince a mind unmoored from a connected reality.

A serious defection from the phalanx of Great Society supporters was the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. King had concluded that the prosecution of the war was assuming a higher priority than the pledged expansion of civil rights. But Johnson remained adamant, at increasingly heavy cost to the nation's tranquillity and to the base of power that had carried him to his recent electoral victory.

A bunch of republicans want to rollback the trump middle class tax hike. They are willing to take little Kevin down a peg and blow up the republican tax bill to get it done. It only takes seven members to sink the caucus and they have some to spare.

It is a shame the republican leadership is comprised solely of ratfucking cannibals.

Better people could easily get a deal done.

A pity that Luee post no. 1729 is such an obtuse one.  1729 is the famous "taxicab number" or Ramanujan's Number, and we mathies tend to notice it.

I remember once going to see him when he was ill at Putney. I had ridden in taxi cab number 1729 and remarked that the number seemed to me rather a dull one, and that I hoped it was not an unfavourable omen. No, he replied, it is a very interesting number - it is the smallest number expressible as the sum of two cubes in two different ways.

George Will has noticed the lack of substance in the DeSantis thing.

A New Hampshire student, referring to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot that followed Trumps incendiary harangue and disrupted the certifying of electoral votes, asked DeSantis last month whether Trump violated the peaceful transfer of power. DeSantis s less-than-courageous answer: (quote) I wasnt anywhere near Washington that day. I have nothing to do with what happened that day. (end quotes ) Good grief. He wasnt anywhere near Gettysburg in July 1863 and had nothing to do with the moon landing in July 1969, but that does not preclude him from having thoughts about these events...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/07/14/trump-desantis-not-inevitable/
Interesting that the conclusion Will reached after noting that neither Trump nor DeSantis will be nominated.

Which is grim news for President Biden.

George Willshould stick to baseball in his dotage.

Sad part is Trump and sleepy Joe are the front runners. Both are almost as crazy radicals. Trump wants a revolution so he can be a slumlord dictator and Joe wants more immigrants and a war with China.

Biden is a radical?

Go back to sleep, Rip Van luee.

Weekend lowlights from the Biden Administration of Horrors

Kamala Harris Says US Must

Reduce Population to fight Climate Change

Huh,?  Is she the bastard daughter of discredited Population Bomb author Paul Ehrlich who has been laughed out of credibility for more thann50 years.

Well, relax.  The White House rushed forward to summon help for Clean Up In the Veep Room
Again. (She meant to say pollution)

How does our second most powerful elected official not know what she said.?

James Clyberg shoul be ashamed of himself.
