Two Florida men, including a self-described organizer for the Proud Boys, a far-right extremist group, were arrested Wednesday on charges of taking part in the siege of the U.S. Capitol earlier this month, authorities said.

Joseph Biggs, 37, was arrested in central Florida and faces charges of obstructing an official proceeding before Congress, entering a restricted area on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol and disorderly conduct.

Biggs appeared to be wearing a walkie-talkie during the storming of the Capitol, but he told FBI agents that he had no knowledge about the planning of the destructive riot and didn’t know who organized it, the affidavit said.

Ahead of the riot, Biggs told followers of his on the social media app Parler to dress in black to resemble the far-left antifa movement, according to the affidavit.

Biggs had organized a 2019 rally in Portland, Oregon, in which more than 1,000 far-right protesters and anti-fascist counter-demonstrators faced off.

The Proud Boys are a neofascist group known for engaging in violent clashes at political rallies. During a September presidential debate, Trump had urged them to “stand back and stand by” when asked to condemn them by a moderator.

This all flies directly in the face of what Trump and his administration told us repeatedly during these last months. It is shocking to hear, and yet totally consistent with everything else that happened these past 4 years. (The ever-incipient health plan, the infrastructure plan, the revised immigration plan, etc.) No promised plans.

But the much ballyhooed Operation Warp Speed was supposed to be different! Now, it sounds like it might have just been more of the same, hence the misinformation about when vaccines were being sent to the states and how much.

I still hope this is in error, but I doubt it is. I foresee hearings on this issue in Congress.

The Biden administration has promised to try to turn the Covid-19 pandemic around and drastically speed up the pace of vaccinating Americans against the virus. But in the immediate hours following Biden being sworn into office on Wednesday, sources with direct knowledge of the new administration's Covid-related work told CNN one of the biggest shocks that the Biden team had to digest during the transition period was what they saw as a complete lack of a vaccine distribution strategy under former President Donald Trump, even weeks after multiple vaccines were approved for use in the United States.

"There is nothing for us to rework. We are going to have to build everything from scratch," one source said.

Another source described the moment that it became clear the Biden administration would have to essentially start from "square one" because there simply was no plan as: "Wow, just further affirmation of complete incompetence."

This Proud Boy organizer wanted his followers to look antifa-ish.

There's a lot of conspiracy theories and paranoia, especially on the Right.
If they are worried about antifa infiltration and somehow deduced that antifa plants will turn around their MAGA caps to identify themselves to other leftist plants.  It's only one more step for some MAGA folks who engage in violence to fake the alleged antifa tip-off, in order to be able to deflect blame later.  (and of course some bro idiots genuinely turn around their hats when they want to show they are ready for action).

So things start getting weird.
There's already been one skinny black guy who was at some leftist protests this Summer, but the Left/antifa crowd at the time denounced him as a right-wing infiltrator.  Trump supposedly blamed antifa for the Capitol attack.  But what's pretty clear is almost everyone involved has been a die-hard Trump supporter with plenty of Proud Boys, 3%ers, Oath Keepers, QAnon dupes, along with other assorted racists and right-wingers.
