My operating assumption is that Hutchinson was told that, because she has little reason to have made it up.

I fully expect the Secret Service to deny they ever said it because to do otherwise damages (further) their ability to be trusted to keep confidential the affairs of any president. That applies whether it happened or it did not happen.

But as previously noted, if they testify about this, what other questions will they be called upon to answer?

"Every single member of the Secret Service who was requested by the committee has been provided to them," said Anthony Guglielmi, the agency's communications chief.
