Almost every administration eventually finds the road to border hell is paved with good intentions.  Maybe it is time for comprehensive immigration legislation that can stabilize the constant fluctuating between faucet and firehose.  I find even people who lean Left, that I talk with, are realizing we can handle only so many people at a time.

The inability to get meaningful progress on immigration legislation is largely intentional, not accidental. It's not the only such issue, but it is a poster child for the campaign-based decision-making that guides legislative processes.

New YorkTimes states the obvious.

Democrats Spent $2 Trillion to Save the Economy.
They Dont Want to Talk About It.

Sunday, October16

Instead of dumping trillions into an already recovering US Economy the dems should have cut taxes.
But dems do not cut taxes.
And this inflation is a HUGE tax increase on all of us.
And an election gift to the GOP.

Fuck the GOP and Joe Manchin III.

Direct pandemic payments were begun under Mr. Trump and continued under Mr. Biden, with no serious talk of another round after the ones delivered in the rescue plan. Most Democrats had hoped the one-year, $100 billion child credit in the rescue plan would be made permanent in a new piece of legislation.

But the credit expired, largely because Senator Joe Manchin III, Democrat of West Virginia and a key swing vote, opposed its inclusion in what would become the Inflation Reduction Act, citing concerns the additional money would exacerbate inflation.

Families were getting an average of 450 bucks a month. That would have defrayed a lot of inflation that they are having to deal with.

I think it's been clear, going back to Will Rogers astute comments, that the Democrats have not always been masters of strategy.

I think the classic Left, the folks who care about worker exploitation and discrimination, about quality healthcare and childcare and safe working conditions and clean air and water, all the places on the political landscape where positive change can keep happening and we could start to catch up with other developed countries, should split off and form its own party.  Everyone else seems to be engaged in quiet acquiescence to plutocracy.  The Gilded Age (no. 2) has given way to the Age of Acquiescence.

Jesus, what garbage. The USA doesnt exploit workers, scrimp on healthcare, allow unsafe working conditions, has clean air and water, and certainly leads all developed counties in those matters.  What we do not have after two straight years of total democrat rule is a sound economic plan since the dems have us with debt that is now 100 per cent of GDP.  That type of spending has led to inflation and a burden of growing interest rates that will only fuel more inflation.
Stop googling idiocy and get real.
