The anemic turnout for the fading political crook is probably indicative that trumps communications director is bogged down in the Donbas with his orchestra.

Happy Birthday to Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom s Cabin.
Abraham Lincoln, on meeting her in 1862 at the White House, greeted her by saying So you are the lady who wrote a book that started this Great War!

When I read the book at 12 I was shocked to learn the character Uncle Tom was a fucking hero.

That is why people like Tim Scott, Clarence Thomas, Byron Donalds are all Sambos and Quimbos

Meanwhile,
my paper today...

'Security risk'...
The government will introduce legislation to terminate the Russian Federation's lease on a piece of Australian land - just next to Parliament House.

#####

Great idea.
Action instead of words.
Russia intended to build a new embassy on the land, in Canberra, the nation's capital.

The pig head on a stick at trumps latest arraignment has people wondering who is currently ahead in the republican internal war for control of the only pair of glasses belonging to the party.

Personally, I'd be going with a 'mental illness' defence...and PTSD.

"Your Honour, my client was overwhelmed by all the things that happened to him as President...the BLM riots, Covid pandemic, the mocking and abuse from the media at home and abroad, crises with US borders etc.
He visited North Korea at great risk to his life, to try to save the world from missile attack....keep 'world peace'.

By the time the election came around, and after all his hard work, and the trauma he suffered in the execution of his duties... including being blamed for everything going wrong in the nation/world...and being rejected by the American people, his mind went kind of fuzzy, vague, like it was damaged.
I submit for your consideration that this damaged mind is the reason behind his unusual and irrational behaviour since then.

This 'business' with the classified documents is a very strange thing to do, certainly not something my client would normally do. It's classic child-like behaviour of someone with a mental illness disorder. Taking things, then trying to hide them in plain sight from those looking for them.

You honour, in view of my client's performance during his time as President, the great debt the nation owes him, and in view of his age, I suggest that if convicted his sentence should be confinement to a comfortable home, with rolling green hills surrounding it, where he can sit on a bench outside in the sunshine and pat a dog, be visited by family, and be treated for his damaged mind illness by trained professionals."

Actually bambu, it is precisely the type of thing Trump has always done: he does whatever he wants because he thinks the laws do not apply to him, and that his money and power will get him out of any difficulty.

"Trump has used privilege and wealth to protect himself from legal accountability at every turn. He has lived his entire adult life in the space twixt illegal and unethical." J Stew.

Trump paid the lawyer Chris Kise 3 million to ignore him.  Nice work if you can get it.  Kise had proposed a settlement with DOJ be negotiated, giving Trump an exit ramp.

And kind of jaw dropping that Trump's buddy at Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton, who told Trump he could keep the documents and it would be okay, is not actually a lawyer.  English major, BA, that's it.  No law school.
You think there could be limits to the incompetence Trump surrounds himself with, but apparently it's infinite.   That's classic narcissism.

No Florida is not a sanctuary state, with no sanctuary cities. Tampa does have a major homeless problem however. Filters down from folks moving there from other areas. I moved there 5 years ago RE prices were lowest in the nation for retirees. Not now.

I agree, for the good of the nation we should just allow Trump to go live in a nice home in the green rolling hills of Nebraska, where he can sit in the sun on the porch of the home and pet a dog, while he gets mental health treatment, and while he writes his memoirs. He just needs to retire, and fade away from public view while he gets help.

Florida is a sanctuary state for the Cubans! And remember the "Wet Foot, Dry Foot Policy." And Marco Rubio and all of the leaders in Florida are Cuban-Americans.

In California we have Mexicans, while in Florida you have Cubans. And New York has Canadians.

I live 100 miles from the border with Mexico, of course we have lots of Mexicans here, and I love the Mexicans, and I love Mexico.

And the United Farm Workers, and the Teamsters Union, and other unions can tell our new immigrants where the honest jobs are. We need to make our immigrants legal so that they can join unions, and so that they can call the police in the case of an emergency.
