In the real world, existing uranium mining continues at the Canyon. And strip mining away all of the uranium would make only a negligible change on our reliance on foreign uranium since the entire region's uranium comprises under 1.5% of US reserves, and most of that is already being mined.

And there are more than seven wonders of the world. The chasm that is the depth of Red's ignorance, for one, is sometimes omitted.

That list is definitive only for the Swiss corporation that funded the poll, and even then only for human made "wonders". The same group of Swiss also has a list of natural wonders and wonder.cities, so that is 21.wonders right there, none of which are the Canyon. So 22 Wonders minimum, just from the Swiss which ignores dozens of other lists, and Biden puts the Canyon 9th.

Or to put it another way: anyone who thinks there is some definite list of wonders is an idiot, and given the number of wonders in the various lists, seven is a random and staggeringly insufficient number.

And we are still allowing the mining of uranium ore at the Canyon.

Meanwhile Russia remains our  single largest supplier of Uranium.

Not to be Captain Obvious, but wouldn't there be far fewer people smugglers if we created a better legal pathway for entering the country to work?  Smuggling is what happens when people want to come here, perceive a way to sneak in, and see no alternative to sneaking.   If we put the money into processing those who are willing to fill our labor shortages and help build housing, we'd get more BFOB than throwing it at barricades and desert patrols that just inspire creativity in the smuggling and sneaking.

Also not to be CaptainCargo obvious, and I am leaving that autocomplete in, about three paragraphs of the Heritage article was all it took to realize what has increased is the number of unaccompanied minors seeking asylum, not trafficking. They treat the two as the same thing. Which for Heritage is 72 over 18.
