I remember when the glitch started, looking up the ASCII codes for the quotes, apostrophes, ellipsis, et al that caused cut/paste to fail and finding no numerical hint as to what might be wrong.  It seems to be a unique and mysterious glitch. 

I wondered if most websites switching to UTF8 coding in the past decade could be part of the problem, but the first 128 characters of Unicode, which correspond one-to-one with ASCII, are encoded using a single byte with the same binary value as ASCII, so that valid ASCII text is valid UTF8 encoded Unicode as well.  It could still be something like that, but I have not found anything that would give users a global fix for any cut/paste.

More and more Americans are finding trump too weird and gross and senseless to watch anymore. I am still curious to see if he has any energy or coherence left at all in a months time.
