But the highlight of the televised dinner was Chuck Schumer.
The top Congressional foe of Trump was seated next to Trump and the two could not have been more congenial. Smiling at each other, Schumer laughing at Trump jokes, etc.

So maybe the lefts stated hate of Trump is all just politics or Schumer decided the race is over and bashing Trump serves no purpose for him.
Or, Schumer is a smart man, a skilled politician and a good person who understands that the Smith dinner is intended to be a good natured, not partisan affair and treated it as such. Unlike the asshole you are voting for who could not set aside partisanship, viciousness or the politics of personal grievance for 10 minutes.

The bottom line is Kamala was guilty of an unforced error in her political skills.
The fear of your idol losing more of the Catholic vote is palpable.

A tempest in a teapot. But like the similar nothingburger Whitmer kerfuffle, a sign that the people RedDick gets his opinions from are nervous about needing to shore up the Catholic vote for Trump.

There will be burgers and ketchup splattered on the wall wherever he is hanging tonight.
Obama out in AZ slapping the shit out of Trumps ego.

Weirdly, Trump threatening to deploy the military against the enemy within apparently bothers Red not at all. Actually, it is not that weird.

Though the media plays it up, I'm not convinced that many voters beyond a 20 miles radius of the Waldorf Astoria are even aware of the Al Smith dinner.

You and Larry are downright naive.
Kamala made the dinner a headline news event by turning her back on it and its history.
Catholics makeup  22 per cent of voters in most of the larger states demographics, including most of the Battleground states. Ceding center stage to Trump was idiotic and one more reason Kamala is unfit to lead and proof that she and the democrat party will pay for issuing her a free pass to the top of the ticket without letting party members vote on her in a primary. And do not forget the dinner raises money for Catholic Charities  who, among a plethora of aid, includes support of Catholic Education the most successful private education system in the USA.

But the highlight of the televised dinner was Chuck Schumer.
The top Congressional foe of Trump was seated next to Trump and the two could not have been more congenial. Smiling at each other, Schumer laughing at Trump jokes, etc.

22 percent of the country is Catholic. Roughly 60 percent (guesstimation) of that percentage is Republican.
In that total you have everything from moderates to MAGA to cultists.
Risk/reward to expending resources and kissing the asses of some Catholics? Fuck those old blue nosed motherfuckers who invited a thrice married convicted felony who raw dogged a porn star.
Also the event raised $10 million.

22 percent of the country is Catholic.
Everything you typed after that is either irrelevant, immaterial, or incorrect.
By the way the money raised was just short of $10 million but was still a Record high for the event.

Your rebuttal sounds like a line from an episode of the old Perry Mason TV series, (one of my favorites!), Your honor, I object! This entire line of questioning is incompetent, irrelevant, and immaterial!

Chuck Schumer should have skipped the event along with every one else who had a lick of political sense, https://nypost.com/2024/10/18/us-news/trump-made-nice-with-schumer-backstage-at-al-smith-dinner-before-joking-brooklyn-dem-could-be-first-woman-president/

There was no major political downside to Harris skipping the black tie event, regardless how much you wish it were so.

Even Fox wants no part of this, https://thehill.com/homenews/media/4941847-fox-news-denies-trump-jokes-al-smith-dinner/

Chuck Schumer should have skipped the event
Schumer is the most powerful democrat in Congress.
Kamala is a hack by comparison.

Yeah? So why did she, at the last minute, decide to send a video?
A video that was awful, by the way.
