The Editorial Boards of those two of the most liberal newspapers in the country drafted editorials endorsing Harris whereupon they were spiked by those newspapers' billionaire owners.  Discuss.
You truly are a moron.
The publisher is, as Harry Truman said when he was President, the person in charge.
You are truly a moron.

The billionaire owners of those papers overruled their editorial boards.
No shit.
They are billionaires because they are not stupid.

The editorials were not spiked by publishers, they were spiked by the owners of the newspapers, cutie pie. Being called a moron by you is a great compliment.

Best advice to Americans who like democracy and a free press: terminate your Amazon account.  Bezos is a chicken shit who is afraid of what happens to him financially if a certain candidate well-known for retribution seeking happens to win.

Actually Bezos is very astute as proven by his wealth.
Endorsing a presidential candidate in this pathetic field of two losers would bring him nothing.

The point of a newspaper's endorsement is not to bring the paper's owner "something".  It is an editorial decision by the paper's editorial board as to what individual would be best in the job and who would serve the voters' best interests.  And the Post's editorial board did just that.  Before Bezos spiked the endorsement because it would "bring him nothing."  He's welcome to vote for anybody he wants to vote for, and I suspect that, like you, he will be voting for Trump.

The publisher is the OWNER of a newspaper.
An editor is in charge of content, while the publisher runs the business side of things.
In most cases the staff of the paper reflects the views of the publisher. But not necessarily on each and every issue. And the publisher holds the ultimate power over editorial views.
Many newspapers do not endorse individual candidates, the Wall Street Journal is the most obvious one.
There is hardly any doubt on where the editorial staff of the Washington Post or the LATimes stands on who should get their endorsement.
But the Publishers refuse to let them.
Like me, I suppose, they find both candidates severely lacking so have decided to sit this one out.

The publisher of the Post, Owens, is not its owner. Bezos is the owner and made the decision to not run the editorial.

Bezos is not moving the needle. Russian promises of a national abortion ban, a second Trump depression and a brutal civil war are getting kids to the polls across the U.S.

The game now is stopping bubba dumbfuck from stopping them casting votes.

The Washington Post is the largest and oldest newspaper in Washington, D.C. It is now part of Nash Holdings, owned by Jeff Bezos.

Right. Exactly what I said. Owner Bezos. Publisher Owens. Perhaps you do not understand that Publisher is a specific position on a newspaper. Publisher can be owner. Not at the Post.

You just cannot escape your ignorance of the newspaper business.
Jezz Bezos owns the Post, and runs it through Nash Holdings.

All decisions affecting the Post have to be okayed by  Bezos.
Publisher is not a specific position at a paper.
It is the owner, his family, or another entry controlled by the person who started or purchased the paper.
No one can apply for a job as publisher.

Go get your Post.  Go to the masthead and see in black and white William Lewis (I mistakenly called him Owens), as "Publisher and "Chief Executive Officer".  Lewis was at one time the CEO of Dow Jones and publisher of the WSJ.  He was named Publisher of the Post by Bezos.

I'll ignore the insult and just add the word "ignorance" to the blossoming list of words you don't know the meaning of.

Do that.
But just remember Lewis had nothing to do with the Post Decision to stop endorsing Presidential Candidates. That was made by Jeff Bezos who is his Boss and owner. The Bezos empire is huge, as is the one run by Rupert Murdoch which includes the Wall Street Jornal.

But keep researching. One day maybe you will grasp it all.
Or maybe not.

LOL

Except you cannot understand that Bezos is the Ultimate publisher of  the Post no matter how he fashions the structure of his empire.

This is how it works. The man who pays the bills is the man who makes the calls.
