And yet, he topped his losing total from 2020 by only a couple hundred votes so far.
About 150,000 is the actual number with 5-6 million yet to be counted.
Quote
I realize there are still votes being counted. So the question is not, why did voters reject liberalism, it is why did Biden voters stay home. Half of the 14 million she lags him gives her the election.
Voters in exit polls  preferred Trump over Vice President Harris on the economy by 24 points. They preferred Trump over Harris on immigration by a jaw-dropping 77 points.
You must have been asleep when the shift right was first noticed.
According to PBS Trump made inroads everywhere, in all corners and among critical voting blocs. He won all seven swing states. ( and about 75 more electoral votes than 2020.)
He is the first Republican in a generation to win the popular vote. He has won the blue wall states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania twice, something no Republican since Ronald Reagan has accomplished. He is expected to enter office with a GOP trifecta of the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. The electorate identified as Republican for the first time since Franklin Roosevelt

About 150,000 is the actual number with 5-6 million yet to be counted.
So, Trump will increase his total over 2020 by 2.5 million, roughly, having increased that total by 12 mil from 2016 to his 2020 loss. Harris will lag Biden by about 8 million. Even ignoring the increase in population, that is 6 million Biden voters who sat the election out. Figuring why those voters stayed home becomes the Dems task. Any studies of voters from the 2024 election is going to be skewed by this: Repos showed up, Democrats did not. And anytime a party wins the majority in a Presidential race, polls will find voters identify with that party. That poll, standing alone proves zero.

Yes, the Repos did two things very well in the election. The convinced people that inflation equalled the economy and made people fear immigrants. They messaged better. But reading into that a general right wing trend is not supported by evidence.

You miss the forest for the trees. It was not the  GOP pointing out the message, it was the daily job performance of Biden and the dems that did it. But why, amid all the bad performance ratings and disgust from voters, did the dems think replacing Joe with his Vice President was going to change anything.? Considering the last two election cycles saw the GOP making gains the dems set themselves up for disaster.
And so it happened.
The GOP continued its gains and the democrat party lies broken.

Saw Donald's speech where he said he's going to build tent cities for the homeless, get them off the streets and out of the squalor in which they're existing.
Ones addicted to alcohol and drugs given the choice of rehab.
American cities made great and pristeen again. No more fetid streets.
Doctors and other medical professionals to assist the homeless.

The money currently being spent on migrants who have entered America uninvited to be used on the homeless instead.

US money being sent to Ukraine to cease, that money to be spent in America instead...making America great again, shining like a new pin, basically.

Surprised? No, I was not surprised, Torres, who represents a poor and working-class district in the Bronx, told me. Much of my side in politics, and much of the media, was in a state of self-deception. We confused analysis with wishful thinking.

Which is to say, too many in Torres party assumed that they were heralds of virtue and endangered democratic values and that Americans would not, as a despairing New York Times columnist put it this week, vote for an authoritarian grotesquerie...

The Catholic Church can help the poor, and the Knights of Columbus is selling Insurance now, and many people such as those who lost homes in the fires in California will be able to buy home insurance from the Knights of Columbus, and then the money can go to Catholic Schools, Catholic Hospitals, and Catholic Orphanages, etc, and to Catholic Charities, etc.

Sammy Hagar needs to plead for MERCY for Mexico, Sammy is rich and powerful and Trump respects Sammy. And we need for Trump to be friends with Claudia Sheinbaum.

On the issue of camps, yes, we need camps for the drug addicts and for the homeless, and we need to build retirement housing , etc. First off we need to get the Senior Citizens off of the streets and into housing, those 55 and over need to get the housing first, along with the children. And we need cheap hostels with a bed and shower for $15 per night, and cheap sober living homes for $450 per month, etc.

We can bring in Santiago Calatrava to build public housing in California City for the Senior Citizens, and they need hospitals and doctors and pharmacies, etc, along with a bowling alley, restaurants, a movie theatre, the golf course, book stores, etc, and right now the weather is perfect in California City, the weather is great in the winter in the desert. And we can bring architects from Greece to Battle Mountain, Nevada, to build public housing, etc, and they can have tennis courts, and swimming pools, etc.

On the issue of camps, we have camps in Lake Hughes, and in Acton, and we can build more, for drug treatment, and for transitional housing for the homeless, etc.

As we get the homeless people healthy and well fed and housed, then we can put them to work laying cobblestones with Black Diamond Pavers, and they can put in fountains, and gardens, and statues, etc. And as people rebuild from the fires then they can bring in the best architects, and the best landscapers, etc.

On the issue of Putin, the people in New York need to discuss the issues at the Russian Tea Room in Central Park, and I suggest sending Putin to Guantanamo Bay.

The Russian refugees are all coming to New York.

Salute,

Tony V.

From the cited article.

Torres pointed as well to the cumulative toll taken by progressives who for at least a decade have loudly championed cultural causes and chanted slogans that turned off Democrats across many demographics.
Donald Trump had no greater friend than the far left,
who alienated historic numbers of Latinos, Blacks, Asians, and Jews with absurdities like From the river to the sea or Latinx.
James Carville added that  the three worst words ever uttered, repeated, or broadcast in American History:
DEFUND THE POLICE!

I am sure that is the take on the right wing bubble you breath in. I think the Dems need to figure out two things: why so many Biden voters stayed home, and why Hispanics shifted to Trump. And as for lying broken, they are precisely as broken as Repos were after the disaster of 2018, the loss of the Presidency and Senate in 2020, and the drastic and unexpected under performance of 2022.

I think the Democrats also need to figure out how to persuade the working class that they are voting against their interests.

The answer to all was brought home on Tuesday.
It was not a shock to those paying attention.

I think the Democrats also need to figure out how to persuade the working class that they are voting against their interests.
Biden/Harris had four years to do that.
Did not go well.

A lot of things happened over the last 4 years, the Unions all had strikes and won, so the Unions are all strong right now and the workers have good contracts as we move forward.

I am sure Trump will continue to build High Speed Trains, etc, and he will keep moving solar forward, etc.

We are not going to let Trump deport people, so we need to get together and make everyone legal like Reagan did so that they can call the police in the case of an emergency, and so that women can report rapes, and so that people can join labor unions, etc.

We need to have a Good Neighbor Policy with our good Christian neighbors, Canada and Mexico. We are blessed to have Canada and Mexico as neighbors. Trump needs to have a good relationship with Claudia Sheinbaum.

Peace.

And Newsom is pumping $750 Million into the Film and Television Industry in California. We can film in Malibu, and in Anaheim, and in Lancaster, etc, and in Palm Springs, etc. Burbank, and Hollywood will do well, etc. Then, to add another great thing to the mix, is that Disney is investing $2 Billion here in Anaheim. And we can hire the homeless to lay cobblestones with Black Diamond Pavers, and they can plant gardens, and they can put in statues, and fountains, etc.

As people rebuild from the fires in California then they can bring in the best architects from around the world, and the best landscapers, etc. If people have a hard time finding Insurance in the future then they can get insurance from the Knights of Columbus, and the profits will go to Catholic Schools, and Catholic Hospitals, and to Catholic Orphanages, and to Catholic Charities, etc.

And we have a good Pope, I like Pope Francis, and I like Giorgia Meloni, and I like the King of Spain, King Philip, and Prince Albert of Monaco is cool, etc.

For the Persians we have Queen Farah Pahlavi, and Mahlagha Jaberi, they will both rise when the movie comes out about Queen Farah Pahlavi.

It would be cool if Natalie Portman could work together with Muzi to help the homeless and the mentally ill and to monitor the mental hospitals, and to coach the building of new Wellness Centers and Mental Health Associations, etc. They both have degrees in Psychology from Harvard.

Kentucky is doing great right now, and Colorado, and Arkansas, and Tennessee, we need to keep making progress, and Nevada is doing great right now, etc.

And I will say this a million times, but we need to support Kiwanis International, and the Peace Corps, etc.

Salute,

Tony V.

Yes we are going to deport mass numbers of aliens. Only way to correct the great harm done to the citizens by Santa Joe. There is a strong sentiment for this even by the Latino community judging by the voting. No mas.
