Actually the slide almost made him safe, which is why I laugh at those who say it wasn't close. Poor jump, hesitation around second, wide path second to third, hesitation at third. Still almost safe.
"Almost made him safe..."
Which is why we laugh at you.
The "poor jump, hesitation around second, wide path second to third, and hesitation at third" are reasons that Nevin should not have sent Judge.
Nevin gave perfectly good reasoning
And refuses - as any good coach - to blame the player.
Gave credit to the opposition, another excellent trait of a coach and stand-up man.
This is what I said yesterday in response to Nevin's "perfectly good reasoning:"
Nevin hits back at A-Rod

He's attacking ARod, but his defense of his decision is pretty weak.
And I have explained why it was weak:
a) He could see what we have all discussed.
b) The stats favored waiting.
Sure, it is great that he didn't blame Judge.
But it would have been better if he admitted that it might have been unwise. If he cannot see that, then he should not be a 3rd base coach.
There's a reason the Yanks had the 2nd most runners thrown out at home, after all.
But keep defending him. It's almost as funny as your defenses of Trump.
