Nope.  It takes every guy on the roster and coaching staff.  They got it done - cant take that away - ever.
So if it they don't get it done this year, it's just Cora (and maybe the GM) not being good enough, not everybody on the roster and coaching staff.  Managing is a tough gig, I guess.

If they dont get WHAT done?

I'd consider an appearance in the divisional round to be a success for Boston in 2019.  I picked the Yankees to win the WS.

In Cora's equivalent season to Farrell's 2014 season, his team is winning at a higher rate than Farrell's average with the Sox. Or are you expecting them to fall to last if/because Cora isn't any good.

Probably his fault that Sale's numbers have sucked.

Why are you asking him what YOU meant?

"If Cora is any good at all he gets it done."

You established passing the A's and Rays as the criterion.

You tell me.  "If Cora is any good at all he gets it done" is your line.

I sense Cora's not getting it done re the WH visit has shaped kid's opinion of him as a manager.

I mostly blame Sale/Porcello/Betts/JD's fall-off in performance, along with a slumping 10D, and no bullpen, as the primary reason for the Sox decline this year.

Most of these factors are beyond the managers control.

It's entirely Cora.  He got dumb in the off-season.

Makes sense

Except I stated my concern with Cora long before that

Maybe it is because he is Latino

Nah..... not that either

Cora telegraphed his WH views, and the liklihood he would not visit the WH, shortly after the '18 WS victory.

So your concerns were based on his '18 performance?

OK.

Very open minded of you.

But I'm not sure I'm ready or need to fall in love with him.

Nice dodge btw the discussion seemed to be why and when you had a problem with Cora.

I posited it came after he won a WS and told Trump to shove it.

Btw, eyeballing the schedule it looks like the Sox have the hardest schedule (# of games against "good" team) of the WC teams: Tribe (30), Rays (17) , As (22) and Sox (31).

And I told you it was long before that

"Long before that" would be sometime in the 2018 season, when Cora managed the Sox to 108 regular season wins and post-season wins against 2 very strong 100+ win teams in the AL, and a very good Dodger team to win the World Series. The 119 wins (108+11) was 2nd only to the Ys 125 wins in 1998. Many baseball historians view the Sox '18 season as among the most dominant seasons in baseball history.

So you think Cora was the weak link last year?  And if so, perhaps you could expand upon what his weaknesses were in '18.
