Trump is toast.

Really?

What do you think will happen?

He'll get slathered with butter, then eaten while still warm.

Same as happens to most toast!

Amazing.

Stephanopoulos pressed his guest saying “if the president of the United States was encouraging a foreign leader to investigate a political rival, that is arguably an impeachable offense.”

But Christie brought up context to better understand what would be in the transcript before painting what would ostensibly be worst-case scenario.

“For instance, if he’s saying, listen, do me a favor, go investigate Joe Biden, that’s one thing,” Christie offered, adding “If he’s saying, listen, I’m concerned about corruption, you’ve just gotten elected. we send hundreds of millions of dollars over there, you need to start looking at this, for instance, one of the things that occurred was the Hunter Biden situation, that becomes totally different.”

Guess what phrase the transcript included?

It's been getting clearer that Tories and Repubes tune their strings to the same dogwhistles.  And I hope Bojo is gone soon - he makes May look like Churchill.  When you see Bojo sitting next to Trump, it's like looking at the result of a cloning that went poorly.  Or think of The Fly, the version with Jeff Goldblum....a teleportation accident.

Here we go again... As you may have noticed, the haters are as active as ever - going after me, my looks, my clothes, my behaviour and my differences.
They come up with every thinkable lie and conspiracy theory. It seems they will cross every possible line to avert the focus, since they are so desperate not to talk about the climate and ecological crisis.

Being different is not an illness and the current, best available science is not opinions - it’s facts.

I honestly don’t understand why adults would choose to spend their time mocking and threatening teenagers and children for promoting science, when they could do something good instead. I guess they must simply feel so threatened by us.
But the world is waking up. See you in the streets this Friday!

Emphases added.

The whistleblower complaint also alleges that some Presidential Communications with foreign leaders and related records were improperly kept in an outside computer network to evade record-keeping protocol.

This is a reminder that Republicans thought it was disqualifying and Trumpists still chant "Lock Her Up" three years later because Hillary Clinton used a private email server.

There was a point in the Barr confirmation hearings where it would have been a scandal if Barr had admitted that the "president" had urged him to investigate a political rival (remember Harris' question, which Barr evaded?)

Now we know that Trump was urging a foreign country to investigate a political rival and he was offering the help of Barr, now fully confirmed Attorney General of the United States of America, and Barr's DOJ did its best to keep that fact from the public.  The response from Republicans are all smiley face shrug emoji.

This is a reminder that Republicans thought it was a huge scandal when Bill Clinton had a five minute conversation with then attorney general Loretta Lynch on a tarmac between flights.  So much so that she recused herself from the Emails matter.

No sign yet that Barr will be recusing himself from anything regarding Ukraine.

Important point to be made: this isn't just about Biden.

Trump was looking to Ukraine to provide a pretense for pardoning Manafort.  This is a continuation of his obstruction of justice re: Mueller's investigation.

They didn't think it was disqualifying.

They thought it was a good hook for an attack.

Nothing they say is based on any principle other than "how do we get, retain, and use our power to advance our personal goals and those of our most affluent and powerful supporters?"

This is vital to understand and was illustrated by Mullvaney's admission that the fight to reduce the deficit was solely about trying to reduce taxes on the wealthy.
