Speaking of Ms Barrett - I can definitely see things getting sticky - and her confirmation not going through.  There will be VOTE suppression, as each side tries to eliminate some senators of the other side from the process - possibly using dirty pool to keep said senators out of the chamber

Of course then we might have a 4 to 8-year stretch - assuming a Biden win - where the SCOTUS is at EIGHT members, as Republicans continue to rule the Senate - and the confirmation process.

Republicans hope to get to 54 senators so the vote is Mitt/Suzy/Lisa proofed

JOSH:  may I suggest a new poll?

Which of these is the most deranged balcony address?

Eva Peron's speech to the Descamisados on October 17, 1951

Mussolini's speeches (any of them,  really) in a hat composed of rooster feathers,  to the Piazza Venezia

Michael Jackson's watch me dangle a baby from my balcony then throw kisses while I'm wearing a curtain over my face address

Donald Trump's balcony address yesterday

Please?

Utter horseshit.   Who has done this?

No.   No one wants the migraine of an even numbered court,  with lots of 4/4 ties and things bouncing back to lower courts.   Biden is more bipartisan,  and would work hard to work something out.

Republicans hope to avoid indictment and personal liability for almost all of their conduct over the last decade plus.

Even shit heels have hopes.

You are delusional and paranoid.

And you cannot count. Pence is a tie-breaker at 50. You only need 53. Of course, if it is not done before the end of November, things may change, but I would be surprised if it takes that long, given the ill-intent to do it even if "the people have spoken," and ousted Trump and given the next Senate to the Dems.

Mitch McConnell is a skunk's skunk, to borrow a headline from the Manchester Union Leader.

sounds like Trump is backtracking and now wants a partial covid-relief-and a 2020 Republican Senator relief package.

someone told him it wasn't a great message to tell vulnerable voters to go fuck themselves a month before an election.

Standard tactic from Art of the Deal.

Blow up the negotiation by walking away from the deal and then coming back to save the day with a one sided deal.

It was bullshit in the book, it was bullshit during 5he 2019 shutdown and its bullshit now.

He blew it up-no need for the Dems to save the Repubs.

So he comes back with BS new proposal.

Fuck him.

MM probably sees the election handwriting on the wall and could care less if he hands off a complete economic disaster for Biden and the Dems to deal with

Kid, you are full of shit, as ever.

If Biden wins, then Harris would break the ties more than 100 days from now. Why on Earth would McConnell wait that long to hold the confirmation vote?

Been following close state races lately?

Report: Democrat Cal Cunningham Mistress Confirms Affair

RALEIGH, N.C.
A race in North Carolina critical to control of the U.S. Senate has been thrown into turmoil over allegations of personal misconduct by Democrat Cal Cunningham, a married man who had an extramarital relationship with a consultant.
Previously undisclosed text messages obtained by The Associated Press and additional interviews show that the relationship extended beyond suggestive texts to an intimate encounter as recently as July.
Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the Senate, and the contest between Cunningham and Republican Sen. Thom Tillis has been among the most watched in the country, with polls showing a tight race and both parties investing heavily in the outcome.
