You were giving figures on gasoline prices.  Summer blend is more expensive.  Whenever there is a drop going into the cold season, part of the drop is due to the lower refining costs of winter gas.  Also demand for gasoline drops, relative to the summer vacation season.

I have no idea what "gasoline distillates" are.  Diesel, kerosene and heating oil are not gasoline distillates, nor was I addressing them.  Did you mean petroleum distillates?  There are different market forces on those, than on gasoline, in terms of seasonal demand.
Gasoline, diesel, hearing oil, jet fuel, all get distilled from crude oil. Demand increase for fuel oil, for example, also means more gasoline production, too. When you add up all the factors of supply we reap benefits at the pump. Summer to winter gasoline is only a tiny portion of the low prices we see today.

Obama supported fracking.  The restriction of fracking on public lands was not in opposition to fracking generally, and his administration saw great increases in fracking on private lands in such states as Oklahoma, North Dakota, et al.  The restrictions were actually seen as "toothless" by Green opponents of fracking.
LOL only because they were never enacted. Especially the ridiculous Obama proposal for an “Energy Trust Fund”

Quote
The U.S. was pumping just 5.1 million barrels per day when Obama took office in January 2009, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Fast forward to April 2015 and the U.S. produced 8.9 million barrels per day. That's an incredible 74% increase. In fact, in 2015, the U.S. pumped the most oil in 43 years. - CNN Business

Also...under Obama and the GOP-led Congress, the U.S. also removed the 40-year ban on crude oil exports, potentially allowing production to increase once prices rise.

So your negative picture of Obama regarding fracking is not congruent with the facts.
We are all thankful he is gone.

Which remain, to be clear, .25 above the gas prices in 2016.

No, most people.are not. Obama's energy policies resulted in a huge increase in domestic oil production within the bounds of reasonable environmental protections. We reaped the benefit. If we are lucky, prices may approach their 2016 levels again.

We can’t drill our way to lower gas prices”.
Barack OBama

But we have.
And now at pump prices under $2 a gallon we are close to 1986 prices, adjusted for inflation.
Keeping the government out of the market, as much as possible, always is the best policy.

Wharton should be ashamed. Be prepared for a super trickle down tsunami. At least Bush the elder, at great political cost, admitted the  miscalculation.

You sound ready to drink a cold frothy mug of gasoline as a toast to your leader and the bright days ahead.

I’d warn you off, but it would really be better for everyone if you never voted again.

Another flood?

Execution-slaughtering other people's children in your killing fields...watch out when the Karma God strikes.

Your lack of caring about other humans who don't look like you is duly noted.

You are a callous asshole.

And I wouldn't want you or your children killed, either.

http://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2018/12/mattis-proved-you-cant-serve-both-trump-and-america/578902/

You can serve both Trump and America.

America must build the wall...it's the only way to get true border security.

Figure out how much money it will take to put a wall across Canada, would you?

It'll be about 5,500 miles for Canada versus the 1,950 or so with Mexico.

Then do the shoreline, if you can figure out how long it is. 13,000ish miles by some counts. 95,000ish by others.

Knock yourself out.

Wharton undergraduate, though Trump neglects to mention that.

U.S. Retailers wrapped up one of the strongest holiday seasons in years, with shoppers crowding stores for last-minute Christmas gifts and delivery companies so far able to keep up with the surge in online orders.
Stores have met the lofty sales expectations set by analysts and industry groups, according to early data, showing that many chains continue to reap the benefits of a strong U.S. economy and rising consumer confidence, as well as company investments to boost their online business and clean up stores.

Part of the reason consumers are spending more is they have more to spend since gasoline is so cheap.
