So...

big decisions looming for G-men and Dolphins, among others

NFL Network mock has Simmons falling to TEN, a steal for Browns.

If Giants agree they could deal down to 7, 8 or 9 and get Simmons while adding to their allotment of picks.

Is anyone dealing up for Tua, Herbert, the Iowa tackle or one of the many DBs or WR options - which do come in tiers?

Should Giants do this and LOSE the Iowa tackle AND Simmons, there are still excellent picks to make at the slot they traded down to.

Cant go wrong staying put and selecting one of that duo, true.

Mock draft has Giants trading down just one spot and picking up a 2nd rounder and a future 4th.
Taking a RT and a OC with their first two picks.

Cool.

Why would Miami go from 5 to 4?  Aren't they taking a QB?

Maurice Jones-Drew has Giants moving up for Chase Young after Chargers trade up to the #2 slot for Tua.

edit:  Oh, I see - Miami moves up so Chargers cannot - bidding war LAC and Miami. Could happen.

I think it's more likely they trade down than up but i won't complain either way.
I think standing pat would be poor mgmt.  Leverage these QB hungry teams.

The only way we do not take an LT. If Simmons is available, we take him and see what is needed to get 9ne of the second tier LT prospect and sign, say, Jason Peters.for a year.

Depends how much better you think, say, Wirfs is than the next best prospect. If he is your guy, you cannot.trade.far down and let Arizona or Cleveland jump you.

Trading down one or at most two spots, acquire more draft picks, and still get your choice of Wirfs Wills or Bechton.  Seems like a no-lose situation.

Dont forget Thomas. But.you are talking about the OL prospects as being roughly equal. Again, if your talent evaluation has one of them much better than the other three, you do not want to lose him for a 2 or 3.

True.

Thuis as I said - its all offer dependent.

Shit - I would take Tua - open up so many options.

My own guess is Tua is gone at 3. If Detroit trades back to 5 or 6 they can probably still choose between Okhuda or Simmons, or at worst get one of them, and auctioning the Tua slot between San Angeles and Miami should get enough return.

Very true

Unless LAC go all the way to 2.

Then DET gets Young - unless as MJ Drew says Giants deal up with Lions to get him.

MJD also had the shocker of HERBERT being picked by the Bengals, not Burrow, with the LSU QB going I believe to the Fins.

NFL.com for details.

So...

Patriots lose 4 of the top 100 free agents - and add zero.

And likely to take a backup QB round 1.

Could be a rough year (pray for cancellation, Bank)

NFL actually compensates teams when they lose a FA.  Had they signed anyone they'd stand to have fewer comp picks.
