Change the name, if you want that stadium, Washington.
https://sports.yahoo.com/washington-owner-dan-snyder-cant-build-new-stadium-at-rfk-site-unless-team-changes-its-name-170106907.html

Snyder is considering changing the team's name from Redskins to Rebels.

But don't ask what the team's uniforms and banner looks like.

NFL wants fans to be unwaivering in their support, but first

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/07/01/report-nfl-may-require-fans-to-sign-a-covid-19-waiver/

Daniel Kaplan of TheAthletic.com reports that the league is considering a requirement that fans sign liability waivers protecting the league from lawsuits based on contracting COVID-19. The potential waiver “likely” will be forwarded to teams by the middle of next week.

Good enough for Trump's reelection committee, good enough for his friend Roger.

a few weeks ago the Pats anounced season ticket refunds were available

https://boston.cbslocal.com/2020/06/19/patriots-covid-19-coronavirus-season-tickets-2020-season/

FOXBORO (AP) — The New England Patriots are offering season ticket holders at an elevated risk of COVID-19 infection the chance to skip the 2020 season entirely and still hold onto their seats for the next year.

From what i've heard anecdotally its avaialbe to all season ticket holders who request the refund.

It makes sense on a number of bases

1-Pats look sympathetic to the fans who may be out of work and cash strapped
2-Pats look realistic towards the impact of CV and social distance seating
3-If fans can self-select out of tickets for a year, the Pats don't have to send out (as many) letters to long-time season ticket holders telling them due to social distance seating, you're SOL-see you next year.

the NYFG offered a similar refund plan earlier this week

https://sports.yahoo.com/new-england-patriots-fan-steals-27-new-york-giants-super-bowl-rings-2008-heist-033417903.html

The New York Giants topped the New England Patriots 17-14 in Super Bowl XLII in 2008, marking the first of Eli Manning’s two Super Bowl wins in his career.

One Patriots fans apparently felt so robbed after that loss that he decided to take matters into his own hands.

According to Bloomberg’s Zeke Faux, career “cat burglar” Sean Murphy and an accomplice stole 27 of the Giants’ rings from a jewelry store simply because he didn’t think the Giants deserved them.

I get why he stole them. (Stupid.)

I'm amused that he claims to still have some and plans to wear one.

But... why on earth is this in the news in 2020?!

The long-story makes for a fascinating read.

Its like a script pitch for a "The Town" type movie, the Affleck flick about Charlestown bank robbers who took on Fenway Park.

Guesses on a new name for the Redskins?

Maybe to honor both an important Washington institution, Congress, and an important corporate sponsor, which seems to be the real driver to this exercise,
how about the The Washington ConFeds?

The DC Comics

And we could rename the Giants to be the Marvels.

Or at least the Antmen.
