They did enough to keep Brady etal out of the red-zone for 3 qtrs and settle for FG 3 times (one miss) .

IMO there was a lot of good defense played and coached last night.

Pats punt-team also played an awesome game. Allen's spin and Slater's coverage pinned the Rams and gave then continual tough field position in a field position type game.

not the prettiest win I've seen but the D , both sides was dominant

What a great game. I was like a pig in mud watching all that great defense. It's too bad one of those defenses had to lose.

I had the same reaction. It really was the closeest thing we had to "old" school physical defense dominated football in awhile. The game really was trench warfare.

and for the most parts the refs let them play.
Your team won (Congratulations) but that does not change the fact that it was a dull, crappy game.

thanks for the congrats, boz, sorry you weren't entertained, I didn't think it was either dull or crappy.

IMO it was a tense 1-score low-scoring defensive dominated game going into the 4th quarter, and in some respects was evocative of SB42.

YMMV

and if you're in the neighborhood around 6pm tonight I'm buying.

America thought it was dull and crappy. Lowest tv ratings in a decade.

Pats not good for national ratings.

America wanted to watch a pinball game

instead they got a defensive football game dominated by line play.

btw whether you thought the O-lines or D-lines dominated, the best line of the night was by Peyton Manning in the opening

According to objective observers, this was a game the Rams gave away.

 Nice "win".

Heh

I object to that conclusion from those objective observers.

I suspect ham's objective observers are like Trump's anonymous validators: hypothetical and entirely notional.

I liked the N.O. newspaper's take:

It was the Maroon 5 of Super Bowls.

Mad Dog called it "atrocious," , a "complete bore", and "unwatchable".

He got it right.

Defense was great? More like QBs played like crap. And why why did Edelman get MVP? Because it was time to give it to a Jew?

Weakest SB ever.

And the MVP was an offensive player proving, once again, without an offense a team can’t win.

How is a 1-score defensive war "unwatchable"?

Maybe it is for fools and pink-hats who need a 49-48 game to go with the chardonay, chicken wings, and 7-layer dip and aren't really invested in the game.

Pats spoiled America with a string of very exciting high scoring SuperBowls over the years.

Yesterday's game was less star wars and more trench wars.

And for those who liked a game with more D, less flags and a let them play physical game, it was very watchable.

And as posted earlier there was a similiarity to SB42, a game which was 7-3 as the 4th Qtr started,  and which some observers think is among the best SBs of all-time.

Would anyone here call that game unwatchable?

But i don't expect analytical insight from a troll.

He insists on going on 4th and forever in his attempt to diminsh the Pats latest unwatcable championship.

and as usual he comes up way short of the chains.
