I think the quarterback who won the Giants game today was Hurts.

McKinney, Love and the boys had MUCH to do with that.

Sounds like you didnt see the game.

I'd love to hear Whisk's current view of Mayfield vs paying Keenum much less.  This is ugly.
That the staff has a better idea of who has the best chance to win long term than I do, and that.there is a reason Keenum is a back up in a league where about a third of the teams have serious starting QB issues. Mayfield is still relatively cheap next year, and if he is not the answer going forward they need to find another answer, who is not Case Keenum. But if Mayfield is not healthy for a game this year he needs to sit for a game or so. Hopefully the bye week can get at least his heel healthy.

Cleveland played dirty, had the refs helping them out, and showed they are not a play-off team. Nice to see them beat. Again.

I said it when they drafted him and many times afterward, Jones is a bum.

That doesn't make it so.

But, you probably don't watch too many games and see that

a) he's never had a OL

b) he's had inconsistent coaching

c) he's played on teams that essentially are defenseless

d) he's in NY-NJ where everything is magnified.

But go ahead and tell us who should be the NYG QB.

Quiet dumbass, you're as stupid as the dipshits that have been doing the Giants drafting. I've forgotten more about the game of football than you'll ever know. In fact you having any brains is about as illusory as Bigfoot.

I didn't see a lot of Danny Duke in college, so had no real opinion, but the knock on the Giants was he was a big over reach at #6 in the draft. They could have traded down, and likely still have him available, and picked up another 1 or 2.

IMO a couple of years in, and he's JAG pro QB, with a tendency to lose the football.

But the real blown pick was Saquon. They could have cashed the #2 pick for a basket of picks to build a team, to one of the 3-4 teams who were looking for their franchise QB. $QBs went in the first 10 picks. Giants could have played those teams off against one another.

the Giant's drafting Saquon was likened then to a blue-collar middle-class family leasing a Bentley.

#2 pick for a RB, even a really good one was a waste of an asset, for a team with no QB, and so many holes to address.

Exactly right.

I wanted Simmons over Thomas

What picks did you prefer that were not made by the Giants, Cap?

Teams REPORTEDLY were not offering much for the move up to where NYG took Barkley

So no - not exactly right with the "basket of picks".

I have to say I had a huge wish for the LB Josh Allen, everyone knows I'm a defense minded guy. But I also had a big yen for the receiver Metcalf. Turns out we could have had both.

Except that's not quite true.

Gettleman was quoted as saying he received a "very reasonable" offer for the #2 but he had his mind set on Saquon. He never tried to shop it among the 4 teams looking for a QB who might have wanted to move up to #2. He could have used the leverage of several teams wanting QBs to his advantage. But he never explored that path.

It was GM malpractice.

So you can't answer the question, without showing how stupid you are.  Same as it ever was, arrogant shitstain.

You dont think those teams called him?

You seem to think one made a pretty good offer.

And no Qb that year?

I guess you could theoretically pick the best guy taken after we picked Metcalf round 2 and in a slot where we had a pick - finishing the woulda, coulda, shoulda (Allen first round, then Metcalf, then......)

Cool.

Gettleman was quoted as saying he stopped taking calls on trading the #2. He was all in for Saquon even if he said one team made him a reasonable offer.

His job was to get the four teams who were in the franchise QB market bidding against one another to make an unreasonable offer he could not refuse.

IMO, he did not do his job very thoroughly.

And as posted pre-draft drafting a running back, even an elite rb, for a team with as many needs as the Giants had was a waste of an asset.

And most rational observers now understand that point.

And as an aside my post was a rebuttal to your inaccurate post that teams were not offering much for the #2. Gettleman's 1st hand description of receiving a reasonable offer proves your inaccuracy.

Curious kid, knowing what you know now, would you make Saquon the #2 pick?

You are welcome to join with me and Cap to discuss exactly who Gettleman should have drafted.
