Watching the Sunday AM TV political shows it is both sad and maddening to see the equivocations, rationals and inability of the Repub spokespeople to call out Trump and his racist appeals. The cowardice of the Repubs is extraordinary. They've lost any sense of conventional morality. Wil it take a mass shooting in an infested Baltimore for people to connect the fucking dots?

I have no idea why you think that would have the slightest impact on them.

It probably wouldn't. My question was more rhetorical in nature. Repubs, as noted above, have lost their moral compass, any sense of decency, and have drunk far too much Trump Kool-Aid.

And... that is not even close to the majority of murders committed with handguns and rifles?

And murders are not most of the firearms deaths in the US. Not even close.

When will the GOP accept that we need restrictions on handguns and rapid fire rifles??

One thing about Battle Mountain, Nevada, is that you do not have to lock up your bicycle. No one will steal your bicycle there. And there is zero crime there.

The only crime is domestic violence, which sucks. I do not respect any man who hits a woman. They need to teach the students young that it is not okay for boys to hit girls, and they need to teach the girls not to allow themselves to be hit. And the police need to take domestic violence seriously.

Sadly they are safe, but their own damn husbands might be the ones hurting the women.

That, yes, and the fact that GOP's constituency has a large fraction that's rural.  For rural people, it's not necessarily that they worship the 2nd Am so much but that the issue is a placeholder for a broader cultural one.  They see urban values and ways of handling problems as a threat to the entire rural tradition.  (it's a form of synecdoche, where, say, the hand is a symbol of the whole sailor)  What's ironic is that many of these rural types would not purchase a military style assault rifle, either for hunting or home protection.

Persecuted at every turn, society's most hated people, it was only a matter of time before White males snapped....and all these massacres happened.

Pity the borders in America hadn't been sealed decades ago...with only approved immigrants allowed in after that...and a workable mix of immigrants in all parts of the nation established.

Now, Congress must "get the guns".

One problem though, the bad people in America have guns...so the good people need guns for self defence.
When armed bad people are smashing their way into the homes of good Americans, the good Americans needs guns with which to shoot them.
Knives, words, bats, golf clubs...useless against the guns.

What if, the woman has dragged the man to the floor by the genitals 5 times, and hit him in the head 50 times?  [true story...as shown on my tv news show in recent times...husband showing restraint]. Husband eventually hit the woman.

They need to teach the girls that shouting at their partners is domestic violence.
Teach the girls that withdrawing affection is domestic violence.
Teach the girls that pushing their partner is domestic violence.
Teach the girls that throwing tantrums and not speaking with their partners is domestic violence.

There are measures that can be taken to reduce the carnage...people are having their loved ones slaughtered.
