2 of the three school kids from NJ who were recently not allowed to tour the White House because they didnt have proper papers were from SWEDEN.

Brown, black, white, yellow or green - all are being treated equally according to law.

Dude.  Presenting yourself at a border crossing point to apply for asylum is legal.

Part of the crush at Tijuana is due to the fact that the city is filling with migrants waiting to enter legally while the Trump administration has limited the number of asylum applications it will take, and taken months longer to address them.

And legally presenting yourself for asylum in order to protect your family from deadly violence in your home country has ZERO to do with not properly applying for a visit to the fucking White House.

You are on a real tear lately, kiidcarter8.  Trump is a truth teller, being an open racist isn't disqualifying for serving in Congress, and now, look at those kids from Sweden who didn't get to take a tour!  Just like those Hondurans who were just tear gassed!

Your cluelessness has zero boundary.

Actually, no - a great majority are NOT attempting to enter via asylum route.

LOL.

This is funny because not only are you pulling this "fact" entirely out of your ass (I'm so glad you are on record as being for fact based arguments!) it directly contradicts what we know about the caravan and why, explicitly, it exists.

I'd say you need to get out of your FOX bubble, but even they describe them as I have, asylum seekers that are frustrated to find the border closed to their legal application:

Honduras is not a White-majority country.
Guatemala is not a White-majority country.
Have you noticed that 'all' the people in non-White-majority countries are rushing to get into White-majority countries "for a better life"?
Have you ever noticed racists place great stock in concepts like 'white majority countries'?

Do members of this forum dispute the statement by US Border Patrol that "it would have been much worse had teargas not been used"?

Paint the picture for us.

What happens next?

How many do we simply allow to cross the border?  And where do they go?

They would follow the same process as anyone seeking legal asylum would have under previous administrations.

This administration can not effectively close the border, create a crisis, then throw up their hands and say "see, we have no choice."

So much misinformation out there, and people like kiidcarter8 eating it up, because lets face it, they don't want "those people" in the country, period.  Legally or illegally.

But to sift through it, Snopes is a useful fact checker.  And here is their summary of the situation:

Meza and thousands of other migrants had traveled through Central America and Mexico with a caravan that originated in Honduras in mid-October 2018. Since arriving in Tijuana, the migrants had been housed inside a makeshift refugee encampment at Benito Juarez Stadium near the U.S.-Mexico border. Most were in a state of limbo as they awaited their chance to plead their asylum cases before U.S. immigration authorities.

Have to ask yourself, kiidcarter8, if you are on the right side of this, why you need lies to make your case.

My advice for President Trump...

Renegotiate all of our trade deals, and especially with China.

California has been hurt by bad trade deals more than any other state, and California has lost over five hundred thousand jobs to China alone, plus we are losing jobs to Canada, and to other places, all of our trade deals need to be renegotiated.

And we need to give our business people redevelopment money to build new factories, and we need low interest business loans to create jobs.

We also have record numbers of homeless people, and we need to get the homeless people into housing, and they also need jobs so that they can support themselves.

There is a lot of hard work to do, and renegotiating our trade deals should be at the top of the list.

Salute,

Tony V.

Yes.   Standard de-escalation methods usually used when children are in a crowd were skipped.   Experts with border patrol experience interviewed by various news outlets said that the use of gas on asylum seekers was excessive.   Violence breeds more violence.   When tear gas has been used elsewhere, from Gaza to Egypt to Ferguson,  MO,  it has led to more violent responses.   Its use is actually banned,  by the 1993 CW ban,  an international treaty,  in warfare.   But it is used against unarmed civilians... doesn't this make you question the legality of such measures?

None...until they are processed/ thoroughly investigated and approved by the US govt for resettlement.
Let them in...where do they go...set up shanty towns in parks in US towns?

If Trump lets them just walk in … he's finished politically.

This may be true but not the reason he is doing it.

Neat parlor trick. Media doesn’t just come out a say Mitch McConnell is racist, no matter how much fucked up shit he pulls.

Meanwhile, Tim Scott has only one more shot at being able to get a plate at the cookout... but he ain’t getting to the dominoes or spades table.

I agree with kiiid.

He's doing it because he can. Because he's a bigot. Because he "made a promise" and he sees a way to use this for political capital.

And because it never dawned on him that it was far cheaper to send a bunch of hearing officers there to speed up the process and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.

Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith defeated challenger Mike Espy, a Democrat, in the runoff election for the U.S. Senate in Mississippi, CBS News projects. Hyde-Smith was appointed earlier this year by GOP Gov. Phil Bryant after Sen. Thad Cochran, also a Republican, stepped down. Hyde-Smith is the first woman elected to the Senate from Mississippi, and the Republican majority in the Senate will grow to 53-47.
