Two Tennessee lawmakers have proposed a bill that would permit a biological father to petition a court to halt a woman who is pregnant with his unborn child from getting an abortion, The Hill reported on Tuesday.

The bill, which was introduced by state Sen. Mark Pody and state Rep. Jerry Sexton, states that once the injunction is issued, the court must hold a hearing with both parties within 14 days. If a woman violates the injunction and obtains an abortion, "the court may hold the respondent in civil or criminal contempt and punish the respondent in accordance with the law."`

And what do you think of this proposed legislation, Kid?

Care to share your opinion?

Thumbs up to the concept.

Though I haven't read the entire bill

The breakdown sparked growing outrage and demands for answers over how Texas — whose Republican leaders as recently as last year taunted California over the Democratic-led state’s rolling blackouts — failed such a massive test of a major point of state pride: energy independence.

The grid began preparing for the storm a week ahead of time, but it reached a breaking point early Monday as conditions worsened and knocked power plants offline, ERCOT president Bill Magness said. Some wind turbine generators were iced, but nearly twice as much power was wiped out at natural gas and coal plants.

There seems to be a discrepancy there.  Red blames it on the Green New Deal.

My wife would read the forum and in her opinion, kidcarter8 is a true believer and Red does this across the net to supplement his income.

Unless Red spends his time with on-line suveys, who the fuck would pay him for empty calories and snarky bullshit? There is literally nothing there to pay for.

It’s why he gravitates toward leadership with a similar work ethic.

Useful analysis.   Grid is only as strong as its weakest member.

Finally rose above zero F.  today.    Several days with lows near minus 20, highs at minus 5 - 10.   Had to route a length of flex duct into a crawl space,  so that the pipes there (already insulated)  wouldn't freeze.  Stuffed in more batt insulation.  Space heater running constantly in kitchen.

What else... water bottles stored on the basement floor froze.   In plastic jugs,  fortunately.  Chilblains - normally a rare condition, pretty common if you skip wool socks and insulated boots.  Pet water bowl near back door iced over.  When it's around twenty below,  you also get a weird disparity between thermostat temp and temp close to a wall or window.   It's only 68 within a couple feet of the thermostat.  The cold feels like it's reaching out from the walls and shoving a chilled hand down your neck.  Cats basically turn into permanent fixtures on your lap,  stomach, or tucked up against the legs.  Car batteries fail, have to put them on a charger (get the kind that charges through the cigarette lighter).   All dietary discipline lapses.   There's a profound urge to put butter on everything.

IOW,  so thankful we had power here.   Without it,  we'd have to flee to a shelter.   Stay warm, you all.

Especially since you lied about them.
