Offer half a million, and it opens up a potential crime wave of people stealing then "finding" celebrity pets. If one celeb offers a reward that huge, others will emulate. It doesn't take "Dick Tracy" to connect those dots. I'll leave it for now, since it's pretty off-topic here.
