Many things can be done to help the homeless in Southern California, including helping the foster children when they are young so that they go to college instead of becoming homeless, and other things can be done.
And Los Angeles just needs to copy Orange County. In Orange County we have everything taken care of. We have a new Wellness Center in Orange where anyone who needs help can go get help. We also have the Mental Health Association in Santa Ana. And anyone in Orange County who needs help can simply dial 2-1-1 on their cell phone and people will help them.
And Orange County has gotten creative when it comes to helping the homeless. In Anaheim the Electric company is owned by the people of the city, and we sell electricity to Disneyland, etc, and some of the money from the Public Utilities goes into a General Fund, and then the people of the city of Anaheim get to decide how to spend the money from our General Fund, and some of the money goes towards helping the homeless, etc.
Also of note, new drug treatment camps are needed, where people can get off of the streets and where they can learn the 12 Step Program, etc. We can have more drug treatment camps in Lake Hughes and in Acton. And as people graduate from the camps, they can go to work with Habitat for Humanity building retirement housing for the elderly, etc, and there is also Homeboy Industries where our local people can find jobs after they complete their 90 day treatment program at a drug treatment camp.
Salute,
