Yes, open borders simply don't work.
It's not too late for Joe though, he can claim that he is new in the job and the problem is worse than he expected.
But, he needs to fix it, or he'll have those progressive Democrats and others after him.
First thing he should be doing is sealing the border...maybe build a wall.
Second thing, tell the Mexican President that the border is closed to all but documented people approved by the US govt, and that anyone he lets into Mexico over its southern border he'll be stuck with.

The Powell thing is pretty funny.   That stuff I was asking reasonable people to believe?   No reasonable people would believe it.   I'm a total bullshitter!   Can't make this stuff up.

The thing is, we'll never know what actually happened between the cafeteria worker and the student.   The worker could have just been an officious jerk.   Or resentful of the affluent students.   Or pissed about something else.   I can see the finding that racial bias could not be determined.  The ways people can be petty are many.
