I think that comment falls in the sunshine and puppies tier,  issue-wise.   Almost no one disagrees.   The issue was with singling out Muslims as more inclined to support early marriages.  Those concerned with global advancement of women like (ahem) our current POTUS and VPOTUS are aware such marriages are most prevalent wherever there is poverty,  especially rural poverty,  and a patriarchical culture.   This includes Hindu,  Catholic, Protestant,  Parsi,  animistic,  shamanistic,  Buddhist,  and other groups,  spread across Africa,  Asia,  South/Central America, Oceania,  and areas of the Southern USA.   (which my "Great balls of fire! " referenced -- Jerry Lee Lewis and his 13 year old bride...)

Dems managed to salvage Souls to Polls,  that's good.   The rest of the bill that got through is fairly regressive and "Jim Crow in a suit and tie. "

Unless you are giving valid IDs to every potentially eligible voter at the state’s expense, voter ID laws are racist. That racist measure is a key element of the republican attack on voting in Georgia that will be destroyed before the next time Georgia holds any kind of election.
