Because we live in a nation far more progressive than the bulk of our politicians, progressive branding and corporate support of progressive causes is simply good business. Divest from every company not on board with this before you go broke as a coal baron.

"It's another case of gun violence in our midst"

- Phil Murphy

https://www.nj.com/essex/2021/06/18-year-old-student-shot-killed-at-maplewood-high-school-athletic-field-identified.html

Hey - fucktard governor - what happened?  Why?  Lets discuss the real problem that would have a youngster try to kill another

Like the problem of the youngster having access to a gun?   The governor's job is to deal with many political issues in his state as best he can,  not to issue dissertations on every thorny and complex sociological problem.  That's why societies have experts and mental health professionals and governmental agencies focused on such problems,  and why journalists,  if given the time and the scope,  talk to them and report back.   Your quick soundbite from a harried politician is meaningless and shows who the real "fucktard" is.  Teenage rage has led to many acts of harm since the dawn of human existence - easy access to guns just makes impulsive acts that much more lethal.

I’m in favor of maiming and disfigurement for all those involved in ordering, planning, executing, and keeping alive the insurrection as a barely strong enough reminder to those who put prejudice and personal interest so far above the rule of law as to work to overthrow the rightful government.

I’d start with Sean and Tucker to quickly reach out to their shrinking yet over large audiences before moving on to other political actors, elected or otherwise.

We have the technology to tie a specific gun to a specific property, with its losing its function if it leaves the house.

Is there a reason not to require it, given the whole "defend my property" argument for assault weapons?
“Defend my property”is only one reason the second amendment prohibits infringing on the right to own a gun.
You may want to get a clue.

Judge orders Virginia School gym teacher who was placed on leave after opposing transgender polices at a school board meeting last month be
reinstated

The teacher  Bryon “Tanner” Cross was suspended after he cited science and Christianity when opposing a draft policy that requires teachers to agree with children’s claim that they are members of the opposite sex.
But Judge James Plowman states that the Plaintiff (Cross)
“contends that his suspension was an act of retaliation following his exercise of his rights to free speech in that, 1) his speech was constitutionally protected, 2) the Defendants’ retaliatory action adversely affected the Plaintiff’s constitutionally protected speech, and 3) there was a casual relationship between the speech and the action.”
Whether the Plaintiff’s speech at the School Board meeting was protected is determined by applying the standards set forth in Pickering v Board of Education — more specifically, was Plaintiff speaking as a citizen on a matter of public concern and do Plaintiff’s interests in speaking outweigh Defendants’ in restricting the Plaintiff.
Here, it is clear the Plaintiff was speaking as a citizen, not in his official capacity. His speech was not conducted at his usual place of employment, occurred during non-working hours and at a forum where public comment was invited. Plaintiff had to abide by the same process to speak as any other citizen. Although this was not formally conceded by the Defendants’, analysis of this was not argued.
It is further apparent that the subject matter upon which the Plaintiff spoke was one that can only be described as a “matter of public concern.” The enactment of a school policy as it relates to transgender issues, as well as the expected conduct of staff and students within the public school system, falls squarely within this scope. Additionally, Defendants referenced related school policies on this same subject matter as well as Virginia statutes and Federal law. Laws and policies enacted by elected legislators, by their very nature, invite political discourse. They are on their face, matters of public, political and societal interest.
Judge Plowman went on to say, “The Court finds that the Plaintiff’s speech and religious content are central to the determination made by the Defendants to suspend Plaintiff’s employment.”
“The Court further finds that the weight of the evidence and the totality of the circumstances, clearly show that the four prongs for issuance of temporary injunction have been satisfied,” the judge concluded.

Methinks he is referring specifically to people who state they are buying a gun for home defense only.   If they are being honest,  then an assault-style weapon that stops working off their property shouldn't pose any problem for them.   There's your clue.

My Grandmother worked for the Gold Mines in Nevada, she was brilliant, and she went to Mexico to open some gold mines in Mexico for a mining company, and the people of Mexico loved her, she helped to bring electricity, roads, running water, etc, to some very poor parts of Mexico, and they threw huge parties for her to thank her. She was a hero in Mexico.

And like with Colombia, some people say that Colombia is dangerous, but if you go in and donate a Library, etc, and treat them as friends then they will love you. If you feed the hungry, and give business loans to the farmers, etc, and help to build schools for the children then they will love you.

As we teach them how to do business, and as people become more educated, and as they are given business loans, and development money, etc, then they will learn how to create good jobs themselves, and we can teach them how to form Labor Unions, and we can help them to have a frame-work of Labor Laws and a Worker Safety Administration, etc.

They need to build the framework and teach the people, and then flood the area with Business Loans, etc. And they can have Village Banks giving them Business Loans, etc.

Salute,

Tony V.

Infrastructure negotiations between WH and Capito collapse. So now Manchin’s committee the bi -partisan blah blah blah slow walk and water it down to appease GOP who won’t vote for it anyway and in order to pass the bill through reconciliation Manchin will only agree if the bill remains too small.

Duck moderate Dems hiding behind Manchin and Sinema will insist on doing what’s possible and pissing away the high ground AGAIN

GOP Voters in WVA want what Biden’s selling including their Republican billionaire governor

But Joe Manchin is owned by ALEC

Fuck ALEC

Exactly.

What else could be meant by "S & M?!"

Similar to the better known collaboration of Garfunkel and Oates.

I'm suspicious of that answer.

BTW ---- Could we unban Banks in a couple days?   If not moving on from an old dispute and repeated personal attack was the grounds,  then why wasn't there a group ban for Banks,  Larry,  and Ham?

I wouldn’t let that bastard within a mile of a kid. The amount of damage this can inflict is mind boggling.

“Shirley? Aw hell no. You’re Bob!”

‘But that’s my name’ said young Mr. Povich

“Siddown and shaddap!”

“Joyce… what the fuck?” Nah you’re Jack!”

“The names Joyce and if you don’t like it I’ll slap your teeth out your ass and write a poem about!”

“Yeah, sure Kilmer. Next!”
