Head of the Oklahoma Guard disagrees.  That is the point.  And wishes to have all 8000 members of his force available, not just 7200.

It's like you ignored his position - when they are deployed, they must be vaccinated even according to him.

All letting them put it off does is mean they will not be ready when needed.

"We estimate that over 800 Oklahoma guardsmen have not and do not plan on receiving the COVID 19 vaccine. This constitutes 10% of Oklahoma's overall force," Stitt wrote. "It is irresponsible for the federal government to place mandatory vaccine obligations on Oklahoma national guardsmen which could potentially limit the number of individuals that I can call upon to assist the state during an emergency."


If feds deployed the OK National Guard they would be getting 7200 troops.  Not 8000.

If deployed within OK, all 8000 could be in play.

Taking benefits earned from the other 800 is unfair.  Making them QUIT is unAmerican.

Pentagon - in knowing they arent getting these 800 men and women - decides - OK, well then their service - both to state and nation - is not needed nor wanted.

It's crap.

It opens up 800 slots for less stupid recruits, potentially strengthening the National Guard contingent in Oklahoma.

Being all you can be involves a steadily evolving regimen of vaccinations, as it has for years.

They can seek the normal exemptions and if not so authorized they need to get vaxxed or get the fuck out.
