As monies are allocated to help the homeless and the poor, the sources of the monies need to specify that the monies be spent to build new housing, instead of buying existing housing and doubling the price of rent. And while gentrification might make dilapidated areas nicer, doubling the price of rent does nothing to help the homeless people. We need for the source of funding to specify that the money be spent to build and create new housing, and to get the homeless off of the streets and into housing, instead of doubling the price of rent which helps no one.
The sources of monies to build housing for the homeless need to specify that the monies go to create new housing.
I also recommend letting people run hostels tax-free where people can shower and sleep in a nice bed for $15 per night.
