Oh I have plenty of suggestions starting with scrapping the futile policies of recent history.
We could also focus on the importance of the modern day nuclear family, two loving parents regardless of differing skin colors, differing religions, while accepting those who are of the same sex.
70 million Americans are 18 or under and one in every four is in a household of one parent. In large metro areas 55% are black.
Everyone has to have a hand in positive reinforcement of the two parent family, Churches, Hollywood, the Internet, all forms of government, and political leaders. We need to stop worrying about what bathrooms we use, or pronouns we choose, and focus on strong family life, community involvement, and those activities that are complementary.
Right. No policies, just thoughts and prayers. Got it. Though your condemnation of Republicans on the warpath over trans issues is welcome. That is the "focus" you were targeting,  right?

He points to some policies because you cannot positively reinforce the two parent family without raising wages, worker protection, providing durable health coverage, investing in public goods and early childhood and continuing education.

This will require raising revenue from the wealthy, corporations, polluters, especially carbon emitting polluters. Not only is reinforcing the family expensive, families require a healthy stable natural environment to rise in.

Ward can support what he says he wants. All it will require is him switching parties.

My question is why stop at two parents? If two is better than one, why wouldnt three, four, or five be better than two?

In spite of the fact that you are mainly shitposting, and generally not worth the keystrokes, I would like to reply to:

You just devoted several posts to the damaging effects of fatherless homes on children.  But now you are on board with "two loving parents...accepting those who are of the same sex."  So are you saying the key to solving our social problems is having fathers in homes, or in having two parents in homes?  These are not the same thing.  You are okay with two moms and no father?
If this what you want to argue about then you are a part of the problem.
Fatherless homes leaves one parent.
My modern nuclear family means two parents, regardless of sex, religion, skin colors.
Two moms or two dads.
The key word TWO.
Hope this clears it up for you.

By the way, anyone who thinks LGBTQ rights and marriage equality are not endangered by reversing Roe should take a real hard look at the Texas Republican platform. As should any moderate or independent inclined to vote for that party. THAT is what they are voting for.

Not to mention their refusal to even allow the Log Cabin Republicans to have a booth.

Since Lyndon B. Johnson launched the War on Poverty nearly 60 years ago, we have spent more than $22 trillion on social welfare programs. And what do we have to show for it? Stagnating wages, an even larger gap between rich and poor, the highest out of wedlock birth rate in US history, and millions of Americans on food stamps.
Almost always the answer to any of the above problems is more funding. More funding for schools, more funding for healthcare, and more funding for social programs across all levels of government. But if the persistence of poverty over the last several decades has shown us anything, it is that more funding  is often as futile as bloodletting. Why? Because none of these programs, as well intentioned as they are, address the root cause of our social dysfunction.

Fatherlessness.
Hey, Comically Transparent Partisan Hack you forgot to enlighten us about this:

Nice sounding sentiments and platitudes about "cultural" change.  Such talk is cheap.  What specific actions, to be started right now, do you suggest?

Poverty isn't just a symptom.  It's a social ill that is also a cause of single parent homes.
That's why it's called " the cycle of poverty." You break a vicious circle by interrupting it.
Gee, you seem out of sorts much more than usual.
In other words, you have no policy suggestions.

Continue your reading with blinders in the FULL ON position.
Your "solution" is a tautology and your "policy" is nothing more than thoughts and prayers. Nothing to deal with any actual root causes, and nothing to ease the resulting societal problems. The issue is not my blinders but your chronic cranial rectal immersion.

Actually Red has been personally, if not in policy or politics, reasonably open to LGBTQ issues.

Hardly.
Policies do not, by default, mean government actions. Although a robust discussion of tax policies that would encourage nuclear families is more than warranted.
No, root causes are imbedded in Society as a whole.  That requires all of us to find a way to improve.
Boiling everything down to Red and Blue colorings is self defeating.
Thoughts and prayers and actions are much more meaningful by all of us, not just the elitist political class.

I guess.  So all your posting about "fatherless" homes was really about single parent homes.  So I assume you favor initiatives to promote teen contraception, to reduce a major cause of single parenthood.  And of course you support LGBT parent couples and policy that protects their rights to marry and be free from discrimination and form stable households.  And free or reduced cost counseling for domestic abuse, marital estrangement, abandonment, etc.  Awesome.  You are really evolving.
