President Biden should consider rounding up every known republican within 100 miles of a coast or a border, something the court has ruled cannot be challenged, to protect them from the rest of America, who the court says can all conceal firearms, and may feel justified in standing their ground against groups or individuals who are prone to stick their noses into honest peoples intimate business. Republicans do not realize how much danger they have put themselves in. They need to be protected.

Baby jails can be repurposed to house republicans, none of whom believe in Covid. If we need more room we can put up tents like they used to in Maricopa county.

The insurrection and the criminal court are two parts of the same story. Republicans are a threat to our lives our prosperity and our freedom. Against their increasingly bold attacks we have no choice but to stand our ground.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/24/tech/companies-abortion-reaction/index.html

... corporations, some with headquarters or offices in Republican-controlled states, are taking action. Companies such as Citigroup (C), Salesforce (CRM) and Match Group (MTCH) first promised financial support to employees seeking abortions in affected states after a draft version of the opinion leaked in May. Many more followed suit on Friday. Some, including Bumble and Lyft, also previously said they would donate to organizations that support women's rights, such as Planned Parenthood and Fund Texas Choice.

Kudos!

Headline from Fox News: Supreme Court's rulings on guns and abortion in one week is the Super Bowl of Liberal meltdowns

You see, it isn't about what is best for the country; it's about what is good for the party. That is the GOP way.

The extreme right SCOTUS argues that the right to abortion is not in the Constitution, therefore Roe v Wade can be jettisoned. The same group put forth in the ruling on the Second Amendment case on concealed carry in NY that there is a right to self-defense.

But wait a minute. There is nothing in the Constitution about a right to self-defense. Clarence "The Clown" Thomas uses that term over 100 times in his opinion. So, what gives?

This is a politicized Court.

Their mission is to return us all to the good old days of the 17th century.

It won't be long before they rule that it is okay to have a monarchy, and that such an arrangement is what the Founding Fathers really wanted.

Guns 1

Women 0

Trying to sort out SC rulings this week it seems 6 of them want red-state women to breed and have kids used for building inventory for target-practice.

Meanwhile the House passed gun reform today which should be a big win for the GOP in terms of defusing a barrel of political dynamite in the midterms.

A celebratory moment.

But folks were too busy protesting.

Is that what was in the written opinion?

Scalia was prescient.  It took 30 years for him to be proven right.

Justice Antonin Scalia dissenting in Planned Parenthood v. Casey that upheld Roe June 29, 1992

There is a poignant aspect to this opinion. Its length, and what might be called its epic tone, suggest that its authors believe they are bringing to an end a troublesome era in the history of our Nation and of our Court. It is the dimension of authority, they say, to call the contending sides of national controversy to end their national division by accepting a common mandate rooted in the Constitution.    Quite to the contrary, by foreclosing all democratic outlet for the deep passions this issue arouses, by banishing the issue from the political forum that gives all participants, even the losers, the satisfaction of a fair hearing and an honest fight, by continuing the imposition of a rigid national rule instead of allowing for regional differences, the Court merely prolongs and intensifies the anguish.

We should get out of this area, where we have no right to be, and where we do neither ourselves nor the country any good by remaining.

Justice Alito wrote: "The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision.."

Rigid?  If your religion opposes abortion then don't get an abortion.  A woman's right to choose is about as flexible as a right can be.

And Alito seems to have forgotten the 9th amendment.

It's not a matter of forgetting.

And the "right of self-defence" doesn't matter, either.

As with McConnell on the SCOTUS nominations of Garland and 4+ years later Barrett, so to Alito and Thomas.

Their supposed reasoning for their opinions carry no substance. They are merely justifications, excuses for the actions they wished to take and took.

"Say Anything" should be the title of a film about their caricatures of Supreme Court Justices.

But don't seek to try to hold them to any standards of conduct until you have 67 Democratic-leaning senators (or 69 if Manchin + Sinema are still there). From faux-originalism to ethics, there are no standards but control and wealth.

Twas sarcasm.  Shoulda used quotes around forgetting or a sarcasm emoji.  Alioto knows quite well the Constitutional protection of unenumerated rights.  Like Scalia, he doesn't believe interpretation or long precedent can secure them.  IOW, bad faith.
