Before 1948, Palestine was home to a diverse population of Arabs, Jews, and Christians, as all groups had religious ties to the area, especially the city of Jerusalem.

#####

So, the "Palestinians" were Jews...and Christians [including Arabs], and Arabs [including Muslims].
Until the British and then the UN fucked with it. And listing Jews first gives the impression that their population was the largest. Rather, they were around 10 to 15%. The rest were.Arabs, and the vast majority Muslim.

Someone should tell "The river to the sea" lot marching thru the West chanting not-so-nice words.
Also tell them that if others hadn't watered Palestine with their blood, they wouldn't have what they have today.....and German general Friedrich Freiherr Kress von Kressenstein and his masters would've owned/would own it all today.
No they would not. The Germans were only there because they were allied with the Ottomans in The Great War. Had they won, well, no one knows what would have happened because it didn't happen, but there is no indication Germans of the Imperial era would have remained. The Ottoman Empire was called the Sick Man of Europe but it would likely have broken up organically rather than by two white European victors drawing lines through the sand with a ruler. There are times i think the world would have been so much better off had the Schliefen Plan worked.

Or better yet, had Franz Ferdinand hired a local driver. Gavrilo Princip has so much to answer for.

Yes, no one knows.
Hitler could've set up a palatial holiday home in Gaza with 'ocean' views, for all we know....with not one Jewish person or Arab person in sight.

The Palestinian Arabs chose to war rather than accept Israel and Gaza Strip (on the Mediterranean, paradise)/ West Bank ...and have been going backwards ever since.
Look at Gaza today. Says it all.
Gaza strip has shrunk from the original partitioned area, so too West Bank?, and Israel took the Golan Heights after one war so it could no longer be used to attack Israel from.
Of course Palestinians today are watched like hawks by Israel ... something about suicide bombers etc.
Don't Palestinian Arabs strap bombs to their children and blow them to pieces as suicide bombers?

Listing Jews first makes the point that Jews have always lived in Palestine.

"From the river to the sea", "F the Jews", "Gas the Jews"...sure seems to be calling for the extermination of the Jews in Israel (and elsewhere), and the destruction of Israel.
2 days after 10/7 atrocities, at the steps of my Opera House, the Pro Palestine supporters were 'rioting' in celebration of the Hamas attacks in Israel, firing flares, burning the flag of Israel, and screaming the above abuse.
Israel hadn't even done anything in reply.

Alternate histories are full of what if guesses but I am morally certain that if there was no WW I, or if it had been a quick war, there would have been no Hitler.

Show me a people who have meekly put up with the loss of a homeland, like you have asked the Palestinians to do. Just one.

Gaza was a wonderful beach resort area attracting many wealthy europeans of diverse backgrounds but it did not take long for it to be transformed into a blighted religious ghetto controlled by terrorists after Israel was created.

...a 70 year old Palestinian man who has spent his entire life in a long term simmering war with a force that has penned you into a small, poverty ridden, service deficient prisonish stretch of land after stealing your land. You would view 10/7 not as the thing that started it, but a flare up of a battle you have been fighting for decades. And you would probably have lost, or know people who have lost, children and spouses and other noncombatants in that war, and to Israel. And because Hamas is different inside Gaza than outside, you would view it like a late 19th century city political machine: where you go to get jobs, supplies, help. The people who run your infrastructure and social services.

Deliberate terror attacks against deliberately chosen noncombatants is an atrocity that is rightfully punished, but before you condemn the views of others, think of things from their point of view.

Outstanding post.

Where I live, impossible not to reflect on the Lakota tribe when the topic of how people should respond to dispossession comes up.  As you observe in a later post, no group has ever taken that well.

I'll have that tequila mockingbird now.

"Native peoples around the world are rising for Palestine".
There's a video.

Unfortunately for these Peoples, strong armies beat weak armies, all thru history.
Then ships beat canoes.
Then armed ships beat small ships.
...and guns beat spears.
The strong overrun the weak...it's as true today as it has even been in history.
I doubt very much that Native Americans will be getting Manhattan demolished so they can live in Central Park and pitch tents on all the island's land.

The Palestinian Arabs didn't own all the land.
It wasn't their land.
It wasn't their homeland.
Anyway, they couldn't see, and chose war over peace.
Which has only brought them to where they are today.

If we want to support a Chinese takeover of Australia, Bambu has given us a rationale he will accept,

The English speaking Australians didn't own all the land.
It wasn't their land.
It wasn't their homeland.
Anyway, they couldn't see, and chose war over peace.

Newsmax experts blame the 10-7 attack on Iran and Biden's freeing funds to the Ayatollah. Not enforcing sanctions. Spreading their genocidal hate of  Jews and Americans with secret cells and big bucks. Nothing was learned from the Carter years.

The Aborigines came from somewhere else, some of their DNA is Indian (from India).
Australia would likely cease to exist, if not for the fact that other countries are not sure what the US would do.
US can defend itself, and its population is armed.

Funny your guilty conscience brought Aborigines into it. The point is that every soldier of the great Chinese empire by your logic has as much right to your house as you do. More right actually if they have more and bigger guns, which they do.
