My point is there is nothing wrong with making voter registration easier as long as we have ample and reliable ways to match the voter to registrations. As far as restoring the  Voting Rights that is a Constitutional problem. States can’t be held to 1950’s regulations that don’t match 2019 demographics.

None of this was your point.  Your point was that "Giving more voting flexibility to potential voters" could not be described as a power grab.

What I asked, and which you have not yet answered, is how it is that Mitch McConnell could see it as one.
Then you should ask Mitch McConnell.
I gave you my answer that it is not a power grab. How could it be?

I am able to make some guesses as to why Mitch McConnell would call it a “power grab” without asking him personally. I was asking you to do the same.

You lack the intelligence to make inferences about his motives?  Or are you unwilling to say what they are?  Or maybe you think McConnell was just babbling incoherently...

I don’t agree with McConnell. This seems to escape you.

Nope. First post of mine in this thread said I was glad you don’t agree with McConnell.

You can speculate on his motives and meaning without agreeing with him. I know I can.

At this stage, I am completely amazed that anyone would try to carry on
a "conversation" with JumboRedNutsState on any topic on any thread at any time.

Absolutely amazing.

AOC OcasioCortezCortezOdanna

Her suggestion on Sunday night that people should consider not having children due to climate change because there is a "scientific consensus" that life will be hard for kids.

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/02/25/gop-trump-emergency-declaration-1182860

Quote
"Nearly two dozen former Republican members of Congress have penned an open letter to GOP lawmakers, urging them to reject President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

"In the letter, the former members wrote that the president’s move undermines the constitutional authority given to Congress to make federal appropriations, and argue that the emergency declaration would set a precedent for future presidents that could one day come back to bite them.

"“There is no way around this difficulty: what powers are ceded to a president whose policies you support may also be used by presidents whose policies you abhor,” the former lawmakers wrote."

Probably all the people on the planet breathing out CO2.
The more people, the more CO2 in the atmosphere.

Try getting many politicians interested in doing anything about overpopulation and see how you get on.

Ivanka Trump is working hard on the issue of child care, here is an idea....

There needs to be a program where the Grandparents can get paid to watch the children. Right now many Grandparents watch the children without pay, I am sure that many Grandparents could use the money. If someone is going to get paid, they might as well pay the Grandparents.

Salute,

Tony V.

Australia allows a million tons of sludge to be dumped on the Great Barrier Reef.

If they dump it further out to sea the impact on the reef will be minimal.
Leftist Qld govt.
The Rightist [Leftist after March 2019 election, most likely] govt in Canberra should watch them carefully.
Gotta sell the coal...gottta survive...the school kiddies striking/protesting climate change still want the latest phones and to be able to charge them anywhere anytime, live in airconditioned 'mcmansions', use computers at home and watch tv, luxuriate with a never-ending supply of hot water.
Wanna be driven to school, driven to weekend sport.

There are reportedly 2200 thermal-coal-fired power stations around the world...with hundreds more being built.
They use the thermal coal Australia has.
