https://www.yahoo.com/news/white-house-blocks-bill-protect-elections-173459278.html

The headline seems wrong, but somebody in the GOP surely blocked this bipartisan legislation to protect our elections.

Blocking election protection is gang initiation in GOP MS-13. They’re fixing to mug some old and sick people to compliment their recent huge robbery and spate of kidnappings. It’s all about turf, so they want a wall. They are definitely down with the “snitches get stiches” mentality. Drug money, gun running, fraud, money laundering, and corrupting law enforcement are pillars of their standard operating procedure.

We need a zero tolerance policy for the republican party. Send the 2000 top leaders to baby cage Walmart jail to await eventual processing. If you pay these thugs 10 cents an hour, you are nearly getting your money’s worth.

Hey Bambi, you got the double bonus. Dutton went down and is proved no leader. Trumbull is on record saying former PMs shouldn’t sit in parliament, so logically is about to resign. Don’t the libs have only a single seat majority? Be funny if Sydney flipped sending the whole infighting  misleadership into the minority and gave Labor control of the government even earlier than anticipated.

Dutton went down, but would've been a good leader and good Prime Minister.
He was the one with the guts to stand up and fight for the leadership spill and a change in direction for the Party...back to the Right, while Morrison and Bishop [Turnbull's best buddies] were put there by Turnbull and his faction to stop him and keep the Party to the Left.

The Moderates one, nothing changed, the Left of the Party still rules. Thehe Right voters will now still have no one to vote for in March as both parties are still Left/Climate Change-"Paris is wonderful" no ideas.

The no-ideas didn't get it...that their only hope of not getting annihilated in March was to elect Dutton [and indirectly his ally 'The Monk' [former PM Tony Abbott]].

The only good thing that happened today was that Turnbull [who knifed Abbott to become PM] was himself knifed and send packing from being PM of Australia.
A good day in paradise, sort of.

Last I heard is that Turnbull is staying on in the parliament until March but won't recontest his seat then.
Staying on so as not to trigger a by-election for his seat...thereby not throwing a spanner in the works for his best buddy, new PM Morrison.
It's what Morrison and Bishop were touting before the vote, that if the reps voted for them Turnbull wouldn't resign and cause a by-election.

The Right people wanted Dutton.
Had they been given Dutton they would've flocked back to the Party [they deserted in droves after Turnbull knifed their man Abbott and became Prime Minister].
My guess is they still won't come back to the Liberal Party now...they won't get off their sofas and work hard at campaigning/at polling booths etc for Morrison and co, seen by them as "Turnbull's people".

Justice will be when today's dimwits get smashed at the March election, never to be seen in govt again in my lifetime.
They only have themselves to blame.
To have any chance of winning the March election they had to get their Conservative voter base back...which they failed miserably to do...judging by callers to my no1 radio station this afternoon.

Pity the no-ideas hadn't sought counsel from Donald Trump before they voted for a new leader...he could've shown them the way to win the election in March.

Nothing funny about Labor becoming govt again.
Last time they took $23m in credit and turned it into a national debt of about $500billion in 6 years...B for Billion.
Borrowed money and spent it like drunken sailors.
50,000 asylum seekers poured in on 800 boats, like a taxi service from Indonesia.
But hey, if that's what the young, the immigrants, uni students, cops, teachers, rusted-on Leftists, nurses etc all want...more of that...then good for them...because they and their kids will the ones paying for it all when the country becomes even more of a basket-case.

As for the circus of the last week...

The solution for Trump is simple;

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/world/italy-to-adopt-an-australian-style-turnbackboats-immigration-policy/news-story/1174b12844d21cf78e4b594198022772

Italy to adopt an Australian style turn-back-boats immigration policy

Charlie Peel in London, News Corp Australia Network

ITALY’S hardline interior minister Matteo Salvini plans to follow “the Australian model” to stem the flood of African immigrants making the dangerous journey across the Mediterranean.
Mr Salvini, who is one of the country’s most powerful politicians, told Italian radio on Thursday he wanted to replicate Operation Sovereign Borders policy adopted in 2013 when Tony Abbott was Prime Minister and Scott Morrison was Immigration Minister.

“You know that in Australia there is the principle of ‘No way’,” Mr Salvini said.

“None of those caught in the middle of the sea sets foot on Australian soil.
“This must be achieved.”

#####

Well there you go.
'No way' indeed.

Donald Trump understands...trouble for him is that America has land borders.
Reportedly, he's doing a job keeping illegals out.

Anyone notice how our President gave credence to absurd White Nationalist mythology on twitter today?  He has since deleted it.

In reference to that tweet, GOP Senator Bob Corker admits that Trump's base are White Nationalists:

CORKER calls Trump’s South Africa tweet “a base stimulator”

Q: What do you mean? What is his base that would be stimulated?

CORKER:“Well, there are portions of those who support the president that are—I’m sure that generates excitement. I mean, it’s—you know what I’m saying...”

Why, he might even have said they are "deplorable."

Don't know if this is the end of this particularly obvious attempt by the GOP to hijack Democracy in Georgia, but if it is, good to see the system can actually work sometimes:

In a meeting that lasted less than 60 seconds, a Georgia board of elections voted down a plan Friday to close seven of a majority-black county's nine polling places ahead of November's midterm elections.

Critics had said the plan to consolidate polling places in Randolph County, Georgia, was a brazen attempt to suppress the black vote in Georgia's governor race, which pits former Georgia House minority leader Stacey Abrams, who is black, against Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, who is white.

Guys, when you have even lost Geraldo Rivera, you are lost:

Geraldo Rivera, the flamboyant Fox News correspondent who appears regularly on “Fox & Friends” and “Hannity,” accused his own network of putting “spin” on the Tibbetts story, turning it into a political debate over illegal immigration. Authorities have said that the man accused of killing the Iowa college student entered the country illegally, a piece of information that Rivera said has been inflated, creating a “false impression” about undocumented immigrants more broadly.

“We, at this network, are putting that spin on this story,” Rivera told Fox News host Martha MacCallum, who had commented that the suspect never should have been in the country. “This is a murder story. It’s not an immigration story.”

Rivera said he was well aware that “most of the Fox audience disagrees with me — but I’m begging you to have compassion and not brand this entire population by the deeds of this one person.”

Huh, run that back again. Authors really hate the present immigration policy. Spreading the look inward self-guilt. If the US is such a terrible guilt ridden place governed by a madman just stay out and develop your own societies.

I love the "michael cohen investigation" line.

Not "mueller investigation" or "russia investigation"

p.s. Not "roger cohen."

Good news, I think.  Georgia GOP has been struggling with the reality that their state has been blue for a while.  I hope voters in Randolph Country will take full advantage of their nine polling stations and help send fascist Kemp packing.

Regarding "base stimulator," perhaps Corker was using base as an adjective, not a noun.  :-)
