Trump just signed a new trade deal with the European Union pertaining to U.S. beef sales in the E.U..

This new trade deal will help the ranchers in California, Nevada, and in Texas, along with the rest of the ranchers in the USA; the cattle ranchers are celebrating right now.

What went largely unnoticed is that one candidate didn't spend any time putting anyone else in a pillory and just made constructive suggestions about saving the planet and "get the white nationalist out of the WH."  He has no shot, but I appreciated Gov. Jay Inslee for his tone. 

I like Tulsi, but I didn't like her joining the dogpile on Harris.  It was all baboon troop stuff.  The debates needed a lot more of candidates detailing their own vision for the country and giving people a sense of a coherent party platform that all are agreed on.  Booker seemed to want that at the start, but then later his attack on Biden suggested otherwise. 

Regarding Oilcan's acronym, erm, I think that was sort of a joke.  If he had said, "She's pretty, so she has to be dumb," THAT would be misogyny.  But simply saying someone is a hottie is an assertion that, AFAICT, remains welcome to the ears of anyone on the cusp of middle age.

No, he's judged her first on her sexuality, then on her character. Bad form for a lefty.

And I do not think that Communism is an enemy like it was in the past, I believe that Communism is dying. I think that freedom and democracy is spreading. I think that our enemies are extremist terrorists, and a couple of rogue nations.

Our enemies are those who spread hatred of others based on religion, and race, and other bullshit like that. In the USA we are doing okay because we have freedom of religion, and we have civil rights so that we are all equal. All of the people of the world can live in peace in the USA, the USA is special. No one is a second class citizen in the USA.

And China is evolving. I pray that China can evolve peacefully. My idea is to slowly turn the power of the government over to the people, and as the economy improves in China then the Chinese will naturally rise as they have more wealth, and the USA will be happy when China becomes a consumer nation and when they start buying our goods.

I do not see us going to war against China, I do not think that it will happen. I do not see the Chinese as being our enemies, and they are evolving.

I think our enemies are ISIS, and Al Qaeda, and Hamas, and other obvious enemies.

And our enemies are apathy and a lack of love for our fellow human beings. If we start helping each other, and loving each other like the Bible says, then the world will be a lot more peaceful.

Also of note is that people who are happy and who are educated are harder for the bad people to manipulate against each other, etc.

'Sealing' the border is the best way...only documented people should be allowed in, like at the other end of America.
Once they're stopped, you only have to worry about catching the ones in America already.

So our research shows that the trafficking problem in San Diego County is, by far, more local, domestic than it is across the border. In our study, we found 80% of the survivors, 450 survivors that we interviewed, were born and raised in the United States. And of those 20% that were born outside the United States, very few of them were actually trafficked across the border. We know that trafficking does happen across the border. Unfortunately, people conflate smuggling and trafficking all the time. Human trafficking is very specific to having been forced through fraud or coercion - been brought across the border, not by getting someone's help to come across the border.

Approximately 10% of the incidents were classified as labor trafficking.

83% of victims in confirmed sex-trafficking incidents were identified as U.S. citizens, while most confirmed labor-trafficking victims were identified as undocumented immigrants (67%) or legal immigrants (28%).

Now, I am not insisting that 2,515 is an insignificant number. It's 838 per year. But that would be 251 labor trafficked victims in those 3 years, of whom 167 were undocumented individuals, or ~56/year vs. close to 800 per year who were not.

The "problem" of human traffickers at the southern border is (a) overwhelmingly made up and (b) a distraction from the very real problem we have inside our borders.
