Pretty clear that $400M in aid and a visit to the WH was conditioned upon investigating Hunter Biden.
Was it explicitly stated by the President himself?
Probably not on record, but clearly that's what was going on and that's what many inside the diplomatic corps understood and were worried about.

I guess you are saying that Trump was about to ELIMINATE the 400 mil had things not gone his way.

OK, gotcha.  But pretty sure that's not how it works.

No quid pro quo

NEEDS upset - makes attempt to justify his feelings
A quid pro quo is not required.

Not debating that one way or the other

Kid could make the point that there hasn’t been presidential quid pro quo. His evidence for this is clear. Trump never won an election and has never and will never legitimately serve a day as president.

So the obvious quid pro quo isn’t a presidential quid pro quo but a normal cheap hood quid pro quo.

That argument is entirely true and hard to dismiss. It’s the best kid can do based on dumpster don’s clear and well documented misconduct.

"No quid pro quo" doesn't answer my question.  But of course I never expected an answer.

You don't think even a delay was important to Ukraine?

Even getting that phone call, something that had previously been denied him, may have been enough to push Zelensky to announce an investigation.  Whats it to him?  Which is exactly why the request itself is enough to demonstrate abuse of power.

A quid pro quo is not required. Soliciting foreign assistance in a Federal election campaign is itself illegal whether you are giving something in exchange or not.

That being said the quid pro quo need not be specifically stated, and usually isn't unless someone is even dumber and more inept than even I think Trump is. There is plenty of evidence to prove the quid pro quo to an unbiased person. That is, you won't think so but my life long Republican mother does.

See also the anti-tank missile sale tied into Ukraine ending cooperation with the Mueller probe.

Trumpists are gonna trump.  But everyone else can see the obvious.

Losses in the courts piling up on Trump today.

“Needs upset...”

Nope.

Speculation today that the timing on the Graham prank call, which was recorded in August, is no accident.

The pranksters are known to be connected to Putin’s operations. Graham was out there criticizing Trump for Syria.

This was Putin firing a warning shot. Remember what we have on you.

Trump claimed to be putting an end to "endless wars" when he pulled a few hundred US troops from the border between Syria and Turkey, ensuring the vulnerability of key allies there to attack.

Four days later, we are sending 2,000 troops to Saudi Arabia.

Huh.

This doesn’t happen to law abiding or competent political organizations, only to today’s republican party.

No. Withheld means withheld.

He might or might not have withheld it "permantently." Kid, but from the viewpoint of a country trying to fend off Putin and his forces, how long does it have to be to become eliminated because the anti-Putin government has been wiped out?

And why are you doing russia's legwork?!

It's not a debate.

It's not a question.

It's not a matter of opinion.

Asking and/or accepting foreign interference in the campaign is against the law. How many times do you need that spelled out for you before you accept the truth of it?

And, again, why are you supporting the practice of inviting foreign interference in the elections?!

Yovanovitch: "I met with the Deputy Secretary of State, who informed me of the curtailment of my term. He said that the President had lost confidence in me and no longer wished me to serve as his ambassador. He added that there had been a concerted campaign against me, and that the Department had been under pressure from the President to remove me since the Summer of 2018. He also said that I had done nothing wrong and that this was not like other situations where he had recalled ambassadors for cause."

Context: Yovanovitch sheds new light on her conversations with US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan. Yovanovitch's testimony gives the impression that Sullivan was not onboard with the decision to remove her from Ukraine and that the decision came directly from the President.

Democratic lawmakers will surely want to talk Sullivan him about these conversations. Trump announced his intention Friday to nominate Sullivan as US ambassador to Russia.

Nah, no attempt at bribery there at all!

No, no, no.  kiidcarter8 is just really really really concerned about corruption.

This is why, naturally, he is such a big Trumpist.
