I lived in Portland for a while.   You should stop looking at cities through glasses you've just pulled from your rectum.

Portland police were featured on "COPS" regularly.

COPS turned violations of rights into entertainment... terrible for society.

Good for society.
Society gets to live in the real world.

Aussie has 'RBT' tv show[Random breath, and now random drug testing as well].
Cops can stop drivers anywhere, anytime.
Society sees how it all works, and the consequences for drivers if they fail the tests.."you are under arrest".

Also "Highway Patrol".  Speeding, traffic infringements, electronic detection alerts cops in cars to unregistered vehicles.
Society sees what they should be doing.

"All" drivers who've been drinking say "2 beers". lol
Then some blow double the legal limit.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_law_enforcement_officers_killed_in_the_line_of_duty_in_the_United_States

***

On December 20, 2014, Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley killed two on-duty New York City Police Department officers in the Bedford–Stuyvesant neighborhood of the New York City borough of Brooklyn,.....

***

Rafael Ramos (December 9, 1974 – December 20, 2014), married with two sons and a longtime resident of Glendale, Queens, had joined the NYPD as a school safety agent, before being promoted to officer in January 2012.[8] He was active in his church, Christ Tabernacle in Glendale,[9] and had once studied at a seminary. He had just completed a training course to become a volunteer chaplain.[10] He planned to eventually join the ministry when he retired from the police force.

The Silver Shield Foundation, founded by the late New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, announced it would pay for the education of Ramos' 13-year-old son. Bowdoin College said it would provide full financial aid to Ramos' elder son, who is a sophomore at the school, so he could complete his education.[11]

A funeral service for Ramos, the largest police funeral in the city’s history, was held on December 27 in Glendale with over 100,000 people present, including many politicians such as Vice President Joe Biden;[12] the service itself from start to finish was almost five hours long and was broadcast around the world, with many people coming from across the country to pay their respects to the slain officer. Afterward, Ramos' body was transported to St. John Cemetery in nearby Middle Village, where he was laid to rest.[13] Hundreds of officers turned their backs to Mayor Bill de Blasio as he delivered his eulogy.[14]

One good thing about no more police depts...there won't be any more dead or maimed for life police officers.

Oh, there's evidence for you! Of what, you have no idea, Bambi.

How about this? Oregon is one of eight states in which the producers have an arrangement to shoot; Portland is one of 18 agencies in the US with such an arrangement.

Or perhaps had:
In 2020, ViacomCBS announced that new episodes would be dropped in response to the Death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minnesota resulting in the series being put on an indefinite hiatus or getting cancelled altogether.

Evidence of how police officers in Portland have to tackle some suspects to the ground, hold them down, often 3 officers, force their hands behind their backs to cuff them.
No other way sometimes.

Do you understand science well enough to know that there is no such thing as objectivity because the observer changes that which is observed?

Asymptomatic is not the same as presymptomatic.   Actual journalists bring out those sorts of relevant distinctions.

Good spot tonight by CNN's Cuomo with the attorney for Officer Lane, the 4-day cop who was pinning the legs of Mr Floyd.

I think later this week might be a better time to discuss details re:  the conversation, which gave extensive info on the arrest.  Let the man be honored first.

But get a clip from the show if interested.

Love factless opinions.

Love even more the complete failure to understand what is being proposed.

He hasn't read the book I linked any more than you have, Kid.

A poem

“He’s guilty judge he’s guilty
You can see it in his eyes
He did the crime and now he has to pay
He’s guilty judge he’s guilty
We have seen through all his lies
The time has come
To put this boy away...”

He may have shown concern and tried to revive him and rode on the ambulance... but he did not intercede to prevent the crime.

Do not pass go

That’s like people complaining the forces of occupation are being withdrawn.
