“So far, the RNC seems to be mostly providing content designed to thrill MAGA devotees who already love Trump,” Robby Soave wrote for the conservative publication Reason. “I’d think that’s a questionable strategy.” And David Brooks of The Times wrote: “This convention is targeted to one voter: Donald Trump. The whole convention is to make his lonely soul feel affirmed.”
Pretty good descriptions that showed up in my inbox this morning, but then there is this:
Jim Geraghty of National Review countered: “Democrats should feel a little less confident about November right about now. Given the raw material of short snippets of speech, rally video footage, flyovers, ceremonies, the president hugging the disabled, etc., talented editors can make Trump appear Reaganesque.”[/i]
That is going to be some seriously talented editing, believe me.
We knew Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was a POTUS of ours. Believe me, Donald John Trump is no Ronald Wilson Reagan.
He isn't even Richard Milhouse Nixon.
He is more like Millard Fillmore, the last of the Whigs. and later the great leader of the Know Nothing Party.
And that is who we have. A Know Nothing POTUS.
Pump the breaks on the Reagan comparison! It's a faulty analysis and it shows a tremendous amount of cognitive dissonance, and puts far too much faith in the Trumpagandists working hard to make Donny look presidential.
