Prosecutors said Mr. Khawaja made the donations in the names of himself, his wife and his business, but that the money actually came from Mr. Nader. While arranging the payments, Mr. Nader reported to an official of an unspecified foreign government about his efforts to gain influence, according to an indictment unsealed on Tuesday.

Khawaja, who hosted a fund-raiser in Los Angeles for Mrs. Clinton in 2016, was charged with conspiracy, making illegal contributions through someone else, causing excessive contributions, making false statements, causing false records to be filed, and obstruction of a federal grand jury investigation.

As many here see it, Australia’s conservative government, in refusing to address the threat of climate change, is favoring the country’s powerful fossil fuel industry over its largest city, as well as the rural areas where fires have already destroyed hundreds of homes.

Then the 'many here see it' should think about it a lot more deeply.

The country is almost the size of mainland America in area...but only has a population of 25 million...not a lot of people paying taxes.
Fossil fuel is all there is at present that can power the nation.
Solar panels on homes, and gas, are making a small difference.

South Australia state tried the renewables now caper...it failed miserably.
The switch to renewables has to be gradual.
The Conservative federal govt gets criticised for spending too much on 'climate change'/'renewables' subsidies, making the cost of electricity unaffordable for many businesses and homes.
The cost of electricity to Australian consumers is said to be 4 times what it is to American consumers.
Most Australian consumers are demanding the Conservative federal govt builds new coal-fired power stations so they can have cheaper electricity.
