Looking to increase the national debt by 50% over the next decade.

So much for fixing it while he was in office.

Fixing it?  You mean eliminating it?

You jest.

Let see - it went up almost 50% in the last seven years - maybe 50% over ten isnt bad.

You want a lower debt but dont want any cuts to programs.

How sweet.

mrs bambu was approached in a mall downunder recently by girls in school uniform protesting 'climate change' inaction or whatever.
My guess is the girls were bashing Australia or the Conservative Prime Minister/govt.
She discussed the subject for a while, including about their use of phones, tvs, SUVs, tablets, laptops, flying in jets on vacation etc.
Then she told them that Australia's carbon emissions are miniscule and that they should be aiming their anger at China, a massive polluter.
She was told by one girl … "You are just old and racist".

The folly of engaging climate change protesting 'brainwashed' children. [who should be in school or at home studying spelling, grammar and maths]

http://www.salon.com/2019/12/12/why-the-federal-governments-billion-dollar-charter-school-program-is-a-bigger-disaster-than-we-thought_partner/

It’s what the party of violent grifting does to add to the debt that is disgusting and criminal. This is just one small example. We’ll be paying of the concentration camps for decades, to name another.

Did you manage to put your country out, or is it still burning?

Still burning, the end will only come with rain [due next April they say], squillions of acres of dry wilderness going up in smoke.
2000 koalas dead already they estimate, and their habitat all being destroyed.

Every year the 'bush' [scrub/forest/wilderness] catches fire.
Arsonists, accidents, lightning.
Abolish fossil fuels, switch to clean renewables, good idea...there will still be bushfires and smoke.
There's smoke over cities/suburbs/towns when they do hazard reduction burns every time there are nice sunny days and not much wind.
Stop people from building homes near or in reach of forest firestorms would be the best idea.

What did the US get for 2T in Afghanistan?
bin Laden dead.
He wasn't worth spending one dollar on, or worth losing one precious American/Allied life on.
If his soldiers were not on one's soil, they could not blow one up!
If only the cabin doors had been locked.
If only complacency hadn't been 'king'.
If only there hadn't been so much 'tolerance'.

Rambu 3 showed what a dumb idea it would be for anyone to invade Afghanistan.
Many have tried it, and many have failed.

'Regime change' is way overrated.

No, you idiot.  Trump has made the claim that he wants to lower the debt.  And you are the one who believed him, even after it was clear that he was making no move in that direction.

And cutting programs isn't the only way to lower debt.  Hint:  $2 Trillion of that debt is being added on by Trump's tax cuts for the rich.

Trump was lying, and Republicans are lying, when they say the country needs to make tough choices on debt, because they only think that's true when there is a Democrat in the oval office.  Two years of total control of the government in the WH and Congress and we area at $1 trillion deficit per year, 2x what it was when Obama left office.

Republicans are liars.   Example No. 1,427.

Remember the right wing OUTRAGE because a law professor had the audacity to say the prez could name his kid Barron but he couldn’t make him a Baron?

Baron Trump is not a public figure who comments on world leaders.

Barron

He still mocked a 16 year old with Asperger’s.

Not a good look for the leader of the free world.

Be best...

He claimed "eliminating it," Kid. Do you honestly believe that he would do anything like it if reelected or is this bluster from you the same as it was from your party all the way along, as Mick Mulvaney admitted?

I have a list of programs I would like to see eliminated.

The fossil fuel subsidies would be a good starting point.

New F-35s would be next.

Paying for presidential golf trips is on the list.

Federal $$ for charter schools should go away until and unless there is both greater oversight and a concerted effort to (a) close the ones that are doing nothing special, and (b) take what works and test it in more schools and environments to learn what is curricular/programmatic vs. what is cult of personality.

I could go on. But I also have a list of items that I want to see go away on the revenue side: the business tax break should go away. So, too, the tax reductions for wealthier families and individuals.

Corps pay a minimum of 15% on profits.
No more zeroing out taxes.
That'd raise quite a few pennies.

Here comes Santa Nancy with her bag of goodies for the good little boy and girl democrats who vote for impeachment!
(Please! It is not quid pro quo! )

The Washington Post reports

House Democratic leaders are bracing for some defections among a group of moderate Democrats in swing districts who are concerned a vote to impeach President Trump could cost them their seats in November.”
Is the Speaker doing anything to alleviate such concerns? The Posties report:
Pelosi has... tried to give moderates political cover with a series of legislative victories they can tout back home. Among them are a major trade deal and passage of a sweeping defense bill with paid leave for federal workers, as well as votes on key campaign promises to lower the cost of prescription drugs and bolster voting rights.
Some moderates are getting even more. Rep. Anthony Brindisi, a Democratic centrist who is agonizing about how to vote, secured a major win in the defense bill that the House passed Wednesday — a provision designed to boost a local manufacturing plant in his district that Trump carried by more than 15 points.
Brindisi’s ousted predecessor, Claudia Tenney, had implored GOP leadership to adopt the provision, which requires the military to buy American-made eating utensils. The only U.S. manufacturer that produces those utensils, Sherrill Manufacturing, is headquartered in the Upstate New York district.

And over at Politico we learn
Lawmakers and senior aides are privately predicting they will lose more than the two Democrats who opposed the impeachment inquiry rules package in late September, according to multiple officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk frankly. Two senior Democratic aides said the total could be as many as a half-dozen, while a third said the number could be higher.

Predictions about some defections come as a core group of centrists from districts Trump won in 2016 are having second thoughts. While many knew impeachment would never be popular in their GOP-leaning districts, some have been surprised that support hasn’t increased despite negative testimony about Trump from a series of blockbuster hearings last month.

Hence the need for Santa Nancy’s bag of goodies.
But remember!
It is NOT a quid pro quo!
