Fuck Lisa Murkowski.

heh

At this point,  it's almost like she's done Democrats a favor.   Still,  it's a major hemorrhage of her former "open minded" position, and she earned the "Fuck yous."  You should have more than a giggle with which to greet the further erosion of democratic process.

Also puzzling that Alexander says Trump did something inappropriate and wrong, yet isn't willing to call for a vote to censure.  Y'know, sometimes guys who are retiriing will try to chime a note of moral leadership on the way out.  But, no.

Man still has to eat and not have to hire security...

They've let Trump grow into a monster.   Deserve whatever they get.

Roberts opens his mouth when he finally should have said nothing, for all that it is good to know if you are a Democratic Senator.

Quite possible that it helps Democrats who run against vulnerable Senators like McSally in Arid Zone-a and Gardner in Colorado.   A lot of Independent voters polled as being for witnesses/documents, and this refusal to allow could move the needle a bit for them.   The sham nature of the trial is further unveiled and the Party of Trump is further revealed as the Cult of Trump.

Murkowski could even be coming out as the Complete Cynic,  asserting that no further witnesses would change anyone's vote,  everyone in GOP  knows what Trump did and are okay with it.

Another GOP senator confirms what we already knew: they were only going through the motions, paying lip service to their oaths.

Sure. But the Wall won't help - that is not how they are getting in, just as it has a minimal impact on the drug flow or the human trafficking.

You think NONE of it has been prevented - or just not enough to justify the cost and the appearance of US as unwelcoming?  I think it needs further study by you.

The wall has little to do with separating immigrant families so what is it about the wall that pisses you off so much?  Would you be less pissed under a different president?

Any president that tried to put the wall up across the entire border would piss me off, but this president lied about it from the start.

Reasons that it pisses me off, in no particular order other than thought:

1) Mexico was never going to pay for it.
2) The thoughtless trampling of the lives and properties of the people along the border.
3) The destruction of the environment.
4) That includes some areas that are (were) home to endangered species.
5) The destruction of private property before permissions were obtained (or even begun to be obtained in some cases).
6) The failure to understand what was being done well enough such that some areas of the wall are going to have to be open for months at a time or the destruction will be that much greater.
7) Not an initial thing that pisses me off, but which pisses me off now, as it has become clear that the work is being done in a shoddy fashion.
8) The lies told about both illegal immigration and drugs that were used to fire up the masses, even though the Wall was never going to seriously impact either problem.
9) With (8), therefore, the failure of the administration (and the GOP) to do serious work on immigration reform,
10) Or drug policy reform, with the ongoing conflicts between federal and state policies, among other things.

Other than that, nothing in particular.

I don’t think these Senators understand what happens after they vote against witness and acquit Trump.

If only they were Larry B wise...

If only we all were.

Quote
“I have come to the conclusion that there will be no fair trial in the Senate. I don’t believe the continuation of this process will change anything,” Murkowski said. “It is sad for me to admit that, as an institution, the Congress has failed.”

And why risk that the continuation of the process might change things?!
