"Drain the Swamp!" cries Donald Trump.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/education/2020/02/15/college-accreditation-department-education-betsy-devos-south-dakota-sioux-falls/4746906002/?fbclid=IwAR0jG5G0xy7_uzQPYzVl_ZFDmurSFY_4UKaB98yssIwBmzUUz3ko1euMeaM

But "and fill it with my cronies!" is how he finished that thought, in private.

Weird.   In SD the grifters usually roll over to the Black Hills while Sioux Falls and the east half of the state is predominantly Margie Gunderson-ish, honest to a fault.   Here in the hills we recently had a counterfeiter who was too lazy to actually print money (all that fuss with special papers,  security strips, inks,  printing plates,  etc) so he hatched a scheme to take real ten dollar bills, some Clorox,  and draw an extra "0" on them and - voila - hundreds!   This plan,  like something from a Coen brothers film,  went about as well as you'd expect.

DALLAS (AP) — Clayton Williams, a colorful Texas oilman and philanthropist whose 1990 run for governor was derailed after joking about rape and acknowledging he went a year without paying income taxes, has died. He was 88.

Clearly a man ahead of his time.

No one is buying trump, but she sure offers a sad pitch for America’s single worst product.

Wishful thinking on your part, methinks.
Many people are buying Trump.
Wouldn't surprise me if he gets re elected.

Many outside of America are also cheering for Trump to be re-elected, as they see him as their only hope.

Have you not watched the GOP and Bill Barr’s DOJ?

America IS a banana republic.

Paid 45 cent a pound today

Indeed one of the bargains in this nation.

When you have no rebuttal,  make a joke.   Maybe it will distract us.
Aren't jokes supposed to be funny?

Ways to know that Mike Bloomberg is not serious about wanting to be the Democratic nominee, part 357. Mind you, the URL/headline oversells it for clicks. "is thinking about" is a more accurate reflection on reality.

I actually think this is a great idea

Not sure she would take it.
Never happening. Just click bait for people like Red who get hard at the mention of her name.

Both New Yorkers. Pretty sure the Democrats want the electoral votes from New York for both president and vp. New Yorkers in the electoral college can only vote for one New Yorker.

Yup.

About 20% of the rest of the world is still "many," even if a much lower percentage than you are thinking. Bambi.

Tom Cotton, Arkansas's Moron-at-Large, cranks up the Yellow Peril xenophobia with a debunked theory of covid-19...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/02/16/tom-cotton-coronavirus-conspiracy/

Quote
In response to Cotton’s remarks, as well as in previous interviews with The Washington Post, numerous experts dismissed the possibility the coronavirus may be man-made.

“There’s absolutely nothing in the genome sequence of this virus that indicates the virus was engineered,” said Richard Ebright, a professor of chemical biology at Rutgers University. “The possibility this was a deliberately released bioweapon can be firmly excluded.”

Vipin Narang, an associate professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said it is “highly unlikely” the general population was exposed to a virus through an accident at a lab.
