---President Donald Trump, in a meeting with Republican lawmakers Tuesday on Capitol Hill, pitched a 0% payroll tax rate for employers and employees that would last through the rest of this year, a White House official told CNBC.

There was also discussion of making the payroll tax rollback permanent, said the official, who declined to be named. Payroll taxes are used to fund Medicare and Social Security. When asked about the potential cost of a payroll tax cut, the official pushed back and asked why there is always a focus on the cost of tax cuts.---

Pure disaster.

Dude - no.  Talk of permanency of the cut is just something you heard.  Don't conclude anything from it

You need to be careful on a  forum like this.  They will take that and run with it as if it was verbatim from Trump..

Yeah!

How dare you reiterate what an official has said to the news media?!

"There was also discussion of making the payroll tax rollback permanent, said the official, who declined to be named."

The article didnt say he would increase the deficit.  But continue reading them partially, that's cool.

Boy, you are a fool.

Foods that fight illness...

If indeed oranges fight the coronavirus, then there is our open door to sell California and Florida oranges and orange juice to the Chinese, and others around the world. Right now is a great time to flood China with oranges.

And when I am sick, I love Spicy Thai Seafood Soup.

Salute,

Tony,

The word marmalade actually came from the curative effects of oranges.   A compote of oranges and rinds was given to Marie Antoinette when she was sick.   It was called "Marie malade" (literally "Marie sick") and then got shortened to marmalade.

Funny also that you don't think his discussed actions have anything to do with helping Americans in time of need.  Just to help himself.  You are a sad, sad, broken record.

He is a sad, sad, broken record.

You are just static.

God damn! What a crock!

Remember when the right mocked Obama for using a TelePrompTer?

He straight up lied and threw out shit to drive the left into a frenzy. Travel bans but not on the UK?
Blaming China?

That’s a racial jiu jitsu move! We debate “why you letting the white people in? Why you calling it the Wuhan virus?” instead of “How could you fuck this up so badly?”

Suckers

Trump's administration has seen 12 of the 15 greatest jumps up in the history of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. They add up to $9546.49 in growth.

Unfortunately, this same period has also seen all 12 of the greatest falls in the history of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. They took away $12975.97 in growth.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_daily_changes_in_the_Dow_Jones_Industrial_Average#Largest_point_changes

The DJIA has dropped just over 20% of value since a month ago. Still above where Trump started...

My hope is that we can have a serious discussion about this.

One issue biologists talk about is something called herd immunity.  Basically,  how do enough healthy people get CV19 that our species enters into a normal equilibrium of resistance with the virus that we have with other influenza viruses,  while protecting vulnerable segments of the population like over-60s with pre-existing ailments.  A good start is to avoid actions that spread the virus while you may be incubating it but asymptomatic.  It's all common sense stuff,  as we've chatted about here.   If you are over 60 and have anything that compromises your immune system,  respiratory problems,  any history of encephalitis or other inflammatory diseases, any major cardio problems,  then yes, social distancing is quite sensible.

If some robustly healthy 64 year old pest named Barton comes by for coffee,  tell him that his glow of health could be illusory and that he needs to sanitize his hands,  and put his own coffee mug under scalding water when he leaves.   Tell him even though he lives in the middle of nowhere, you just saw that his county,  Pennington County, had its first reported case.   Make him sit on a plastic chair,  and spray it with disinfectant when he leaves.   If he pets your cat,  shave the cat and dip it in a weak solution of sodium hypochlorite for thirty minutes.  Just kidding on that last one.   Really,  best thing is to talk through the door.   Just know that Barton is a lifelong door licker.   Do the right thing.
